Business Systems Manager

POSITION SUMMARY:

The Business Systems Manager’s role is to ensure the efficiency of MFS business programs and that operational requirements are met and comply with all regulations. The Business Systems Manager must demonstrate knowledge of both federal and state laws as well as the company's human resources (HR) policies. Collaborate with business leaders to understand their operational needs and translate them into effective IT system requirements. Identify and resolve issues related to business software and hardware systems. Manage project budgets and lead team members to ensure successful project execution.

ILLUSTRATIVE DUTIES:

  1. Develop and manage information systems and provide architectural and technical inputs to the project.
  2. Analyze, design, and implement process improvement changes across different departments.
  3. Collaborate with technology teams and business users to manage implementation, training options, and support.
  4. Review efficiency of latest software.
  5. Research competitors’ business strategy, collect market information, determine business needs, and document all requirements.
  6. Review existing systems by applications demos and meeting IT sales personnel.
  7. Perform gap analysis and define requirements to address the gaps.
  8. Analyze potential solutions to obtain future needs.
  9. Generate and manage quality control reports, management reports, status reports, and system assessment reports.
  10. Calculate return on investment and execute the project activities with a focus on providing efficient and cost-effective solutions.
  11. Create and review technology RFPs.
  12. Coordinate with partners to define scope and act as a point of contact for all the partners.
  13. Coordinate with external vendors and other operations personnel in order to manage the development.
  14. Plan and implement effective testing processes to ensure that deliverables adhere to standards.
 
Position Requirements

MINIMUM REQUIREMENTS:

Five or more years of experience performing information systems functions (e.g. systems design, development, operations, etc.) and/or pertinent academic training in information systems technology. Four-year IT-related degree preferred. Knowledge of Azure, O365, Infor M3, Labvantage LIMS, 3E Generate, Alchemy Cloud and Power BI a plus. Knowledge of database structures and connectivity is a plus. Knowledge of RPA, process mining and workflows a plus. IT certifications (e.g. MCSE, MCSA, CCNA, CCNP, etc.) a plus.

  • Occasional evening and weekend work to meet deadlines
  • Sitting for extended periods of time
  • Dexterity of hands and fingers to operate a computer keyboard, mouse, and to handle other computer components
  • Lifting and transporting of moderately heavy objects, such as computers and peripherals
