Qualifications:
Required:
· MD or DO degree from an accredited institution.
· Completion of an ACGME-accredited Psychiatry residency program.
· Board-certified or board-eligible in Psychiatry.
· Active New York State medical license (or eligibility).
· DEA certification and ability to prescribe controlled substances.
· Strong communication, collaboration, and organizational skills.
Preferred:
· Experience in consult/liaison and outpatient psychiatric care.
· Experience with emergency psychiatry.
· Familiarity with integrated or collaborative care models.
· Additional board certification/eligibility in Internal or Family Medicine.
· Bilingual abilities are a plus, especially in Spanish or other languages commonly spoken in the local community.
Physical Demands: May spend a great deal of their professional day walking, standing, moving and manipulating equipment, as well as lifting and moving objects, equipment and supplies.
Ability to lift 20 pounds. Moving, lifting or transferring of patients or objects may involve lifting of up to 50 pounds, as well as assist with weights of more than one-hundred (100) pounds. Requires the ability to stand for extended periods of time, bend or twist their body, as well as visual acuity.
