We are currently seeking a dedicated and empathetic Licensed Vocation Nurse (LVN) to join our dynamic team on a part-time basis.

Job Summary: Assist in planning, organizing, developing, and directing the Nursing Service in accordance with government regulations and as may be directed to assure that the highest degree of quality patient care can be always maintained.

Essential Responsibilities will include, but are not limited to the following:

  • Assists in planning, developing, organizing, implementing, evaluating, and directing the nursing service department, its programs, and activities.
  • Develops and maintains a good working rapport with inter-department personnel, as well as other departments within the facility to assure that the department services and activities can be properly maintained to meet the needs of the patients. 
  • Develop and maintain nursing objectives and standards.
  • Interprets department policies and procedures to personnel, patients, visitors, family members, etc., as necessary, assuring that all always follow the established policies.  At least once a year, review the policies, recommending any changes.
  • Creates and maintains an atmosphere of warmth, personal interest, and positive emphasis, as well as a calm environment throughout the department.
  • Meets with department personnel, on a regularly scheduled basis, to assist in identifying and correcting problem areas, and/or the improvement of services; evaluate your assigned personnel and make recommendations to the department director.
  • Reviews patient care plans, treatment plans, etc., at least monthly, and make recommendations to the Department Director. Order prescribed medications, supplies, and equipment as established by our policies and procedures. Assure that narcotic records are always current.
  • Admit, transfer and discharge patients. Assist in arranging transportation, packing as necessary; assure that patients are escorted to the discharge area.

 

Required Education, Experience, Skills and Abilities: Must hold a current Licensed Vocational Nurse (LVN) license and ideally have at least one year of experience in a hospital, skilled nursing care facility, or similar medical setting. Proficiency in using E-Mars and E-Time for documentation is required.

Must possess the ability to make independent decisions when circumstances warrant such action.

Must possess the ability to deal tactfully and work harmoniously with personnel, residents, family members, visitors, government agencies/personnel and the public.

Must be knowledgeable of nursing and medical practices and procedures, as well as laws, regulations and guidelines pertaining to hospital and nursing home operation.

Possess leadership ability and the willingness to work harmoniously with and supervise professional and non-professional personnel.

Must possess the ability to maintain the care and use of supplies, equipment and maintain the appearance of nursing areas, regular inspection of nursing units for sanitation, safety, and proper performance of assigned duties.

Possess the ability to seek out new methods and principles and be willing to incorporate them into existing nursing practices.
