Share Email Opening Apply Now Title Medium Voltage Electrician  Description Position Summary: Work involves installing, testing, repairing, and maintaining high voltage electric power-controlling equipment and/or distribution lines. It also involves most of the following: installing or repairing any of a variety of electrical equipment such as generators, transformers, switchboards, controllers, circuit breakers, motors, heating units, conduit systems, or other transmission equipment; working from blueprints, drawings, layouts, or other specifications; locating and diagnosing trouble in the electrical system or equipment; working standard computations relating to load requirements of wiring or electrical equipment; and using a variety of electrician's hand tools and measuring and testing instruments. Requires comprehensive trade knowledge of electrical principles and system operations.   Position Requirements Essential Duties and Responsibilities: Demonstrate safe work habits, comply with company safety requirements Experience in High Voltage underground termination/splicing Experience in overhead line maintenance/construction Proper care for material, tools and equipment Operates power tools such as drills, saws, pullers, tuggers, etc Experience with Bucket Truck/Digger Derrick operations Requires knowledge of process, procedures, and methods Requires the use of common courtesy in everyday contacts with employees, clients, and the general public Night/weekend work as required, with potential for extended hours as needed for emergency calls Work as required in varying weather climates The ability to travel out of town and stay overnight as required Class A CDL Driver’s License or the ability to obtain Physical Requirements: Must be able to physically lift up to and in excess of 75 pounds Must be able to climb ladders and steep stairs, crawling, standing, stooping, bending, crouching, kneeling, sitting, reaching, pushing and pulling objects Repetitive use of arms, hands and fingers Ability to wear Personal Protective Equipment Ability to work at elevated heights on ladders and/or scaffolds Specific vision abilities required Must be able to physically work up to ten to twelve hour days, sometimes in extreme weather conditions. Physical work is a primary part (more than 70%) of the job Education/Experience: Associate's degree (A.
