Description

Summary of Job Responsibilities: Coordinate quality assurance activities and assist the Quality Manager with advanced quality projects such as PPAPs, APQP Projects, Corrective / Preventive Action Plans, Root Cause Analysis, Inspection Plans, CMM Duties, Data Collection and Analysis, as well as departmental process improvements. This position will also assist in the training of new quality auditors.

 
Position Requirements

Essential Duties and Responsibilities include the following. Other duties may be assigned.

  1. CMM operations. Including: maintaining & running current programs, developing new programs solely or with the QM’s assistance, accurately reporting results generated from CMM reports, reporting any needs to the QM.
  2. Assists on all Red Tags written. Review of issue, root cause of issue, actions taken to permanently correct. Reports all data back to the QM & or CA team if applicable.
  3. Works on Corrective Action / Improvement Plans with appropriate management to ensure root cause and improvement actions are being completed. Reports accurate data back to the CA Team & / or QM.
  4. Performs calibration duties on all inhouse calibrations. Works with the QM to schedule and maintain outsourced calibrations
  5. Assists the QM / Engineering with Launch data collection, compiling, reviewing, etc..
  6. Assist Quality Manager with the creation of PPAP/Part Approval Packages, including all APQP documents
  7. Performs Product Layouts solely or with assistance of the Quality Manager for the submission to our customers
  8. Works with the QM to develop and initiate Quality Inspection Plans
  9. Works with The QM to develop Part Quality Guides for all parts produced. This includes photos of defect samples along with referenced boundary samples placed at the press.
  10. Fills in for Quality Auditors on other shifts due to absence
  11. Must be able to work overtime when necessary; with minimal advance notice at times.
  12. Assists in the training of new quality inspectors and machine operators, when applicable.
  13. Identifies and isolates non-conforming product.
  14. Collects data and works with Group Leaders / Technicians to assure process control of molded and assembled products.
  15. References applicable information in the customer files such as prints, written specifications and standards, along with past histories to ascertain quality of parts.
  16. Develops basic knowledge of the injection molding processes.
  17. Partners in troubleshooting of job processes, work station, and auxiliary equipment.
  18. Maintains a good understanding of the procedures and processes used in the assembly of product, and make recommendations for process improvements.
  19. Complete inspection/test reports and accurately document inspection results.
  20. Maintains the quality document files.
  21. Inspects customer and vendor supplied products according to Incoming Inspection plans.
  22. Accurately performs specialized testing according to inspection plans.
  23. Assists in maintaining the sample library.
  24. Effectively communicates quality assurance specifications and standards and works closely with Group Leaders and Technicians to meet these standards.
  25. Performs computer data entry functions.
  26. Occasionally works outside of regular scheduled work hours; with minimal advance notice at times.
  27. Assumes a leadership role in the developing of machine operator's knowledge and understanding of quality standards and documentation.
  28. Create, audit, and maintain operational procedures in the plant
  29. Assist other departments in developing operational procedures
  30. Create and maintain inspection and receiving instructions
  31. Assist in the development of the production notebooks
