The Residential Counselor provides crucial direct counseling and support to youth within a residential setting across Camden County, operating under the direction of the treatment team.
This role requires consistent supervision and structure for residents during all shifts while ensuring the program adheres to stated goals. The Counselor actively participates in the youth's development by instructing, guiding, and informally counseling them, providing formal life skills education, and co-leading recreation activities. A key function is assisting youth in achieving their treatment plan goals and offering one-to-one assistance when needed, including providing transportation to appointments.
The Counselor is responsible for all required documentation completed by the end of the shift, and for maintaining a clean and orderly program site. This position requires active engagement in professional development, including regular supervision meetings and staff attendance, while contributing to the agency's mission and values.
