Our people are our core and we are passionate about their success!   Description Position Name: Assistant Supervisor   Reports to: Assistant Plant Manager and Production Supervisor   FLSA Status: Hourly   Supervises Others: Yes   Position Summary:   Under the direction of the Assistant Plant Manager, and the Production Supervisor, the Assistant Production Supervisor will help oversee and manage production shift employees and ensure compliance with safety, quality, and quantity standards. The Assistant Production Supervisor is also tasked with supporting the Training and Quality Department on daily responsibilities and tasks.   Job Responsibilities:   The list is a comprehensive list meant to represent the most common or important duties of the position. Other duties may be required and/or assigned. Supports the leadership team in ensuring the daily workflow and assignments are fully executed as per quality and production expectations. Assists the Production Supervisor in overseeing and managing production for startups/shutdowns. Is familiar with and proficient in understanding analytical resources provided to support production priorities. Assists Production Supervisor in training, coaching and supervising production employees on the assigned shift. Provides constructive and timely performance feedback, answers questions, coaches/mentors and assists packers/press operators on daily tasks. Covers lunch breaks. Supports the Training Manager/Production Supervisor with managing and training new hire trainees on a one-on-one basis. May be responsible for overseeing/tracking their progress through training lifecycle. Supports the Quality department by performing quality audits and other daily tasks assigned to the quality department as needed. Supports production floor by understanding and ensuring conveyor and palletization system is properly working. Performs tow motor and press operation responsibilities as business needs dictates. Perform all duties as directed/assigned by Production Supervisor, Assistant Plant Manager, Plant Manager or Human Resource leadership. Ensures compliance with all safety rules, OSHA guidelines, GMP and PEE guidelines as well as any departmental/line specific work instructions and protocol. Immediately escalates concerns to Production Supervisor and Assistant Plan Manager Ensures compliance with The Employee Handbook and all other Edge Plastics policies and protocols. Follows Edge Plastics disciplinary protocol to address employee concerns. Education and Experience: Bachelor’s degree in technical related discipline preferred but not required or equivalent work experience. Minimum of 3 years proven manufacturing experience preferred. Minimum of 2 years proven leadership experience Previous tow motor a plus       Knowledge, Skills and Abilities**   The Assistant Production Supervisor must have the following abilities: Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite software (word, excel) and basic computer operations. Ability to communicate in professional tone and manner in both verbal and written means. Stand, bend, stretch for hours at a time and lift finished products over head. Must be able to lift between 37 and 50 lbs at a time. Read and comprehend written instructions and ensure instructions are met and achieved upon review of completed product. Must be able to properly record quality related concerns as they arise. Ability to be able to visually inspect finished product; view stress fractures, bubbles, color accuracy and other quality metrics to ensure production and client metrics are met. Ability to work in a fast-paced environment in a collaborative team setting. Ability to multi-task with a high sense of urgency The Assistant Production Supervisor must also be able to: Work twelve (12) hour shifts on a rotational basis which includes weekends, holidays, and overtime on designated weeks.
