Carlington Community Health Centre is seeking experienced and compassionate Registered Nurses (RNs) and Nurse Practitioners (NPs) to join our dynamic, interdisciplinary team on a casual basis. This is a rewarding opportunity to contribute to high-quality, client-centred care in a community-based setting focused on health equity and social determinants of health.

Responsibilities include

  • Provide high-quality, client-centered nursing care to individuals and families from diverse and marginalized communities.
  • Conduct clinical assessments, deliver treatments, and manage follow-up care in a primary care setting.
  • Support chronic disease management, health promotion, and illness prevention through education and clinical interventions.
  • Collaborate with physicians, nurse practitioners, and allied health professionals to deliver coordinated, holistic care.
  • Maintain accurate documentation and uphold professional and organizational standards of care.

 

 
Position Requirements

Qualifications

  • Current registration in good standing with the College of Nurses of Ontario (CNO) as an RN or NP-Primary Health Care. 
  • Undergraduate degree in Nursing from a recognized university (Master’s degree required for NPs).
  • Additional relevant training or certification in areas aligned with community health services.
  • 3–5 years of full-time nursing experience in a community-based, primary care, or public health setting (experience in both community and acute care is an asset).
  • Demonstrated experience working with marginalized and underserved populations, including individuals facing social and economic barriers.
  • Strong clinical assessment, communication, and interprofessional collaboration skills.
  • Proven ability to support inclusive, culturally safe, and trauma-informed care.
  • Experience in program development, implementation, and evaluation is an asset.
  • Previous work in non-profit or community-based organizations is considered an advantage.

Linguistic Profile

  • Fluency in English is required.
  • A third language relevant to our client population is an asset.
