Director- North Campus 

Description

Richmond Behavioral Health is seeking a dependable and qualified Director to provide leadership and perform complex and advanced administrative work related to the operations of the men’s residential treatment program and co-occurring residential treatment programs and the North Campus. This position provides administrative and clinical supervision to staff to ensure compliance with applicable regulations.

Essential Functions

Plans, supervises and coordinates programs, services and staff; assigns, directs, trains, and inspects the work of staff; disciplines, coaches, counsels, and evaluates staff performance; develops staff schedules.

Participates in staff recruitment efforts for Division or unit vacancies; submits requisitions; develops scoring criteria; conducts interviews; orients new staff.

Assesses service utilization; reviews billing; monitors expenditures, performs unit-wide budget analyses and provides periodic budget reports for COO; provides consultation on difficult cases; conducts site visits as needed.

Participates in development of ongoing SUD Division efforts including clinical services, planning activities, outcome reports, presentations and other necessary materials.

Supports programmatic operations by coordinating with various departments within the SUD Division to ensure their facility-related needs are met. Assists management staff with the oversight of vendors to support continuity of daily operations.

Monitors grounds/garden maintenance of the SUD facilities (e.g., managing vendor contracts, planning, scheduling and ensuring work is completed).

Oversees facility renovation projects on behalf of the SUD Division (e.g., managing vendor contracts, convening team meetings, ensuring work is completed on time, preparing status reports).

Assist in the planning and management of events held at the North Campus or other SUD locations, on the grounds or within in the buildings (e.g., staff trainings, community events, speaker events).

Oversees the operations and activities of the North Campus Food Services/Culinary Arts program which provides meals to all SUD residential programs as well as meals for the RBHA Crisis Stabilization Unit.

Monitors and adjusts food service expenditures to ensure efficiency, costs savings, appropriate caloric and nutrient content and cuisine diversity of food and beverage purchases and preparation.

Represents RBHA to the larger community and other public entities; works with internal/external providers, community groups and public entities to develop and implement strategies designed to produce a more accessible/ coordinated system of care that meets a constantly changing demand for service.

Consults with other Authority managers and supervisors to resolve inefficiencies in workflow and address barriers in services provision; participates in work groups and/or serves as chair on committees regarding service delivery; serves as a consultant to MH division staff regarding SUD treatment services for MH clients with addictive disorders; actively participates in case planning and care coordination for complex, difficult, and otherwise high-needs individuals in need of SUD treatment and other services.

Leads and/or otherwise participates in various leadership, planning and oversight meetings with the Chief Operating Officer and other Division directors, managers and supervisors and leaders across the agency.

 
Position Requirements

Knowledge, Skills and Abilities

Comprehensive knowledge of services, benefits and programs available for clients and ability to assess and restructure delivery of same to meet client needs; thorough knowledge of principles of behavior management training, crisis intervention and prevention; comprehensive knowledge of State and local licensure requirements, Medicaid regulations, confidentiality and consumer rights; skill in the operation of general and specialized equipment used in the area of assignment; ability to understand, interpret, and relate oral and written instruction; ability to solve problems within scope of responsibility; ability to interpret and apply regulations; ability to maintain detailed records; ability to plan and supervise the work of subordinates; ability to communicate ideas effectively both orally and in writing; ability to establish effective working relationships with associates, subordinates, medical professionals, community partners, clients and the general public.

Education and Experience

Master’s degree with coursework in social work, psychology, psychiatric rehabilitation, sociology, counseling, vocational rehabilitation, human services counseling or related field and moderate experience in behavioral work, or equivalent combination of education and experience. Experience with utilization review and electronic health records review; and previous supervisory and managerial experience. 

Special Requirements

This position is responsible for ensuring that North Campus facilities support effective service operations. Key areas of oversight include the management of the Alumni House (Men’s Recovery Residence), North Campus Culinary Services, grounds and garden maintenance, select facility renovation projects, and support for special events held at one or more North Campus Substance Use Disorder (SUD) locations.

The role also includes supervision of facility maintenance and operations, as well as general vendor management. This encompasses, but is not limited to, building security, safety, parking, housekeeping services, and oversight of RBHA property.

Additional duties may be assigned as needed. Supervision will be exercised over subordinate personnel. This position operates under the general direction of the Chief Operating Officer (COO) of Planning, Development, Research, Evaluation, and Substance Use Disorders.

Licensed Clinical Social Worker, Licensed Professional Counselor, Licensed Substance Abuse Treatment Professional or Licensed Clinical Psychologist.

Pre-screener certification

Valid driver's license in the Commonwealth of Virginia.

Starting Salary Range $120,000
