Serve as a liaison between the patient, billing department, and insurance carrier to enhance account receivables, resolve outstanding issues or concerns on patient accounts. ESSENTIAL JOB DUTIES: Review patient accounts, identify delinquent accounts and collect overdue payments and out of pocket expenses. Verify patients benefits for out-of-pocket expenses. Verify insurance eligibility. Verify and update patient demographic on accounts. Receive and process payments for medical services rendered. Answer, investigate all calls or in-office inquiries related to patient's account. Demonstrates proactive interpersonal communication skills. Maintain patient confidentiality by following HIPAA policies and procedures. Other duties as assigned.   Position Requirements KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS AND ABILITIES: Knowledge of Microsoft Office products. Knowledge of Medical Billing. Knowledge of Explanation of Benefits. Knowledge of CPT, ICD-10 and HCPCS codes. Knowledge insurance carrier contracts. Knowledge of HIPAA regulations. Knowledge of business office procedures. Ability to work in a fast-paced environment and work well under pressure. Ability to work with currency and make change. Skill in working with an EMR system. Skill in communicating with patients to collect balances. Ability to maintain confidentiality. Ability to maintain professionalism at all times. EDUCATION AND/OR EXPERIENCE: Two to three years of medical insurance billing and/or collections experience. Excellent customer service skills. Detail oriented. Proficiency in researching data for analysis and closure in the accounts receivable arena. Excellent verbal and written communication skills. Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills.
