Area Sales Manager - Kent, WA 


Primary Responsibilities:

  1. Execute monthly Focus Plan objectives, attain corporate and supplier goals to include volume, profit, distribution, placement and promotional activity.
  2. Analyze available data sources and utilize data to drive improved performance within assigned sales team and the retail trade.
  3. Establish measurable and achievable volume, distribution, placement, promotion sales and merchandising objectives compatible with company Focus Plan and supplier priorities.
  4. Serve as the primary conduit to field sales for all market intelligence.
  5. Recruit, train, supervise and evaluate department staff.
  6. Organize the structure and utilization of the sales team ensuring that all sales positions and territories are appropriately staffed to achieve company and supplier objectives.
  7. Create and implement development plans for direct reports, establishing goals, monitoring progress and conducting meetings to communicate objectives.
  8. Ensure market survey-MVP program is administered and run according to company standards.
  9. Manage all departmental expense and sales line to budget.
  10. Enforce all liquor laws according to state law and regulations regarding product sales.
  11. Complete all other tasks or projects as assigned.

Position Requirements

Preferred Qualifications:

Education/Training:  Bachelor’s or advanced degree; High School diploma or GED required

Licenses/Certifications:  Valid driver’s license and auto insurance required

Experience:  Minimum five (5) years previous beverage industry sales experience; Minimum two (2) years previous sales management experience

Knowledge/Skill:  Proficiency with Microsoft Office suite; Experience with an AS400 system; Excellent oral and written communication skills; Ability to develop strong relationships with internal and external customers; Knowledge of budgetary processes and influence on business objectives; Ability to build presentations and develop business reviews utilizing standard computer software programs; Demonstrate flexibility in overcoming problems and personalities; Demonstrate leadership and team building skills; Ability to focus and work cross functionally across many levels of organization; Strong project management skills with the ability to meet tight deadlines


Physical Requirements:

  1. Lift/Carry & Push/Pull up to 165 lbs.
  2. Bend/Stoop/Crouch/Squat
  3. Use arms/wrists/hands/grasp
  4. Use of industry tools: hand truck, six wheeler, manual pallet jack, box cutter
  5. Ability to travel throughout the day for visits to customer accounts
  6. Work indoors with frequently walking in customer accounts
