ESSENTIAL JOB DUTIES: Follows departmental protocols to determine proper execution of diagnostic testing. Educates patients on ordered diagnostic testing and will properly place IV's as needed. Orders, receives, disposes, and injects radiopharmaceuticals. Actively demonstrates a working knowledge of nuclear medicine to provide the best patient care. Monitors all departmental testing. Ensures proper patient placement to achieve quality images. Operates all imaging and non-imaging equipment (gamma camera, dose calibrator, Geiger survey, Scintillation probe). Enters all necessary information into EMR per departmental protocol. Maintains accurate patient records and ensures charges are correct. Follows ICANL standards of practice. Travels to all offices as needed. Other duties as assigned per the need of the organization and within scope of licensure.   Position Requirements KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS AND ABILITIES: Knowledge of human anatomy, physiology, radiation physics and radiographic equipment. Knowledge of Radiation Safety. Skill in performing nuclear testing. Skill in utilizing time management. Ability to maintain confidentiality. Ability work independently. Ability to communicate effectively (both oral and written). EDUCATION AND/OR EXPERIENCE: Minimum of one (1) year experience performing nuclear scans in a hospital or medical office environment. Completion of an accredited Nuclear Medicine program. Current registration (ARRT, NMTCB). Current BLS certification.
