ROLE

Are you passionate about empowering youth and building stronger communities? The Carlington Youth Program is seeking a dedicated Youth Outreach Worker (YOW) to join our team and make a difference for youth from vulnerable communities. Our program focuses on fostering self-development, community involvement, and academic success.

As a YOW, you will play a crucial role in maintaining and expanding services for SWAG participants (ages 12-18). Your work will also involve collaborating with other youth-serving agencies to coordinate community resources and expand youth programming.

Program-Related Activities

  • Program Compliance and Support: Ensure SWAG aligns with program objectives, balancing academic support, social and recreational activities, mentoring, healthy nutrition, and life skills development.
  • Intake and Crisis Management: Conduct preliminary assessments, provide supportive listening, and crisis intervention; coordinate ongoing support with team members focused on case-management and individual support.
  • Liaison and Resource Connection: Work with school staff, students, and parents to identify and address needs, linking them to academic, social, and emotional resources and identifying gaps in support.
  • Youth Event Planning: Plan, organize and facilitate workshops, outings, and community events tailored to the identified needs of participants.
  • Community Involvement: Plan and support community youth activities, ensuring the smooth operation of the youth program and assisting team members as needed.
