Our people are our core and we are passionate about their success!   Description Position Summary: The General Accountant will prepare and maintain financial records to track the organization’s assets, liabilities, profit and loss, tax liabilities and other related financial activities. Job Responsibilities: The list is a comprehensive list meant to represent the most common or important duties of the position. Other duties may be required and/or assigned. Prepare monthly balance sheets, income statements and profit/loss statements. Maintains the general ledger. Reconciles banks accounts on a weekly basis, verifying deposits and addresses inquiries from banking institutions. Reconciles cash disbursement, payroll and customer accounts, and other miscellaneous financial accounts, manage accounts receivable collections. Completes manufacturing variance analysis. Supports department and co-workers in completing all departmental responsibilities. Must be able to be cross trained in all areas of the accounting department. Education and Experience Bachelor’s degree in accounting/finance OR associate degree with GL (general ledge) or costing experience. Three years of related experience in an accounting discipline for a manufacturing company preferred. Proficient in all Microsoft Office products. Experience with analyzing manufacturing variance allowances. Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities** Possess knowledge of general financial accounting and cost accounting. Holds understanding of and has ability to adhere to generally accepted accounting principles. Has basic understanding/knowledge of accounting software and ability to adapt to preferred accounting systems. Ability to communicate in professional tone and manner in both verbal and written means. Excellent organizational skills Ability to analyze and compile data and complete tasks with high attention to detail. Comfortable working in a team environment but demonstrates the ability to work independently with minimal supervision. Ability to work with a high sense of urgency on time sensitive projects. Possess the ability to work outside of normal working hours and/or weekends based on business needs. Must be able to sit/stand at a desk/working on a computer for prolonged periods of time.
