Share Email Opening Title DSP - Floater  About the Organization Our company was incorporated in 1984 within the State of North Carolina, and opened its doors for business in August of 1985. The company has continually grown to a point where we currently serve more than 600 individuals, and employ more than 1000 people across the state. Skill Creations is a human services agency that operates three service divisions. The ICF Division provides specialized long-term residential care to 191 individuals with intellectual and/or developmental disabilities in 15 different towns in North Carolina. The Community Operations Division provides residential and non-residential services to persons with intellectual and/or developmental disabilities in their home community. The Child Development Division, with two locations in Goldsboro, provides high quality child care and preschool for children ages birth - 5 years. One center also offers after school care through age 12.   Description $20/hr for Daytime Shifts plus some Overnights Position: Floater (with some regularly scheduled shifts added for FT status) Based in Asheville, + Buncombe/Haywood counties Part Time/Full Time opportunities available (FT position includes some Benefits)   A Floater works with a variety of the folks we support in an as-needed capacity, covering open shifts along with some regularly scheduled shifts both daytime and overnight. The position will act as backup coverage serving various people as needed. We serve people with intellectual and/or developmental disabilities. The DSP works in a community setting and/or the individual’s home, providing care according to the specific needs and goals of the individual. This care may include: personal care behavioral support medication administration job coaching and assistance transport/accompaniment to community engagement activities, day services, or appointments opportunities for recreation   Position Requirements Requirements:  High School, GED, or College Transcript from an accredited school. Valid NC Driver’s license and acceptable Driving Record. Criminal Record Check. Completion of paid training in CPR/First Aid and Behavior Management. Basic computer skills for e-mail, electronic training modules, and data recording. Ability to remain on one’s feet most of the time.  Ability to lift 50 pounds, and to occasionally balance, bend, stoop, and kneel.  Prompt and regular attendance. Includes working during inclement weather and some holidays.
