Description

GENERAL PURPOSE OF POSITION: To provide administrative support to Associate Director/Chief Loan Officer and other CB&LF staff as needed including: 

 

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:

 

  • Provide exceptional customer service and clerical support by responding promptly to telephone calls and drafting of correspondence on behalf of CB&LF.

 

  • Converse with customers on the different type of loans products and options that are available, as well as the term of those services.

 

  • Review loan applications to ensure completeness and accuracy according to policy.

 

  • Obtain documents for loan applications from prospective borrowers including church by-laws, constitution, certificate of good standing, corporate resolution, minutes from congregational meeting, etc.

 

  • Providing assistance in mortgage loan application process including analysis of applicants’ loan documents and financial reports.

 

  • Contact prospective applicants to obtain information needed for completion of loan application and to answer questions about the process.

 

  • Obtain and review borrower financial statements as needed.

 

  • Advise borrowers on pending status of loan applications.

 

  • Serve as backup assistant in the posting of daily mortgage payments to borrower accounts on ABS mortgage system.

 

  • Assist with the updating and posting to the CB&LF website, FaceBook page, and other social media.

 

  • Assist with maintaining the promotional and marketing materials, such as brochures and newsletters.

 

  • Assist with the general mailings and reports of CB&LF.

 

  • Provide support with Grant Mortgage Recovery Program.

 

  • Organize and maintain filing room and archive systems of CB&LF.

 

  • Other duties as assigned.
 

Position Requirements

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS:

  • High School Diploma and a minimum of 3-5 years banking, finance and/or mortgage banking; mortgage banking preferred.  Some college preferred.

 

  • High degree of computer proficiency: Strong knowledge of Microsoft Office (Outlook, Word, Excel, Publisher), with advanced knowledge of Excel.  Experience with Quicken.

 

  • Knowledge of mortgage banking is preferred.

 

  • Excellent grammar, written and verbal communication skills as well as proofreading and editing skills.

 

  • Ability to prioritize work and perform with little or no supervision, within a collaborative team-oriented office.

 

  • Clear understanding of the need for confidentially and discretion.

 

  • Knowledge and appreciation of The United Church of Christ policies, structure, and mission, preferred.

 

  • Possess excellent communication skills, as well as strong time management and organizational skills.

 

  • Ability to work with a diverse group of people.

 

  • Commitment and sensitivity to the variety of local church traditions, cultural and ethnic backgrounds represented in The United Church of Christ.

 

  • Willingness to travel occasionally within the United States in support of Partners in Building training events.
