GENERAL PURPOSE OF POSITION:
The purpose and mission of Local Church Ministries (LCM) is to encourage and support the local congregations of the United Church of Christ in the fulfillment of God’s mission. It supports the vision of the UCC as a multiracial, multicultural church, accessible to all, as it is lived out in and through the local congregations.
The Local Church Ministries Church Building and Loan Fund (CB&LF) is a resource of the United Church of Christ. It is dedicated to assisting new local congregations with the purchase of their first building. This is accomplished in partnership with the congregation and the Conference. In conducting its mission and ministry it seeks to develop mature and vital, multicultural, multiracial, accessible to all, justice oriented UCC congregations from young or renewing churches.
Administration of the CB&LF portfolio requires specialized reports and oversight, financial analysis of applications for loans, ongoing examination of documents, answering customer inquiries, and preparation of regular accounting entries. This position also provides specific accounting functions in support of Local Church Ministries.
