Based in Searcy, AR, First Security Bank has a unique opportunity for a driven, customer-focused professional to join our dynamic and growing Searcy Lending Team. First Security is seeking a Loan Officer who values and thrives on building relationships, delivering exceptional service, and contributing to our community’s growth. In this role, you will be responsible for cultivating both new and existing client relationships to drive loan and deposit growth, while representing the values of innovation, integrity and community involvement that define First Security Bank. This is an onsite position, offering the chance to work with local leadership and customers as an integral part of the Searcy Community.

- Candidate must be at a minimum, 18 years of age.
- Bachelor’s degree with a business related emphasis is required.
- 5+ years of banking experience, with a minimum of 3 years of lending experience is preferred.
- Proficiency with Outlook, Word, Excel, typing, 10-key and utilization of the internet is required.
- Willingness to demonstrate Core 5 values with customers and coworkers.
HOURS OF AVAILABILITY:
Regularly Scheduled Hours/Week: 40 (+) Hours | Monday - Friday 8:00am - 5:00pm | *Extended working hours may be required.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
- Responsible for soliciting and servicing a variety of commercial and consumer loans within the guidelines set forth in the loan policy.
- Interview loan applicants and analyze their financial status and credit to determine feasibility of granting a loan.
- Actively communicate and exchange information with customers while keeping a calm, patient, objective and professional demeanor. Discuss complex and sometimes sensitive subjects with clarity and tact while following through on issues to a satisfactory conclusion.
- Maintain current credit files, proper notes and collateral security documents. Manage client loan processes that include application, underwriting, closing and post-closing data.
- Approve loans within established limits or refer loans to the loan committee for approval. Ensure all loan decisions, actions, and/or recommendations are based on an accurate and thorough understanding of each customer’s financial needs and conditions and comply with all laws, regulations, and bank policy.
- Advise customers on the completion of loan applications and provide excellent customer service throughout the loan approval and closing process. Closing/Declining loans in a timely manner.
- Recognize, identify, and report any deterioration in the credit quality of a loan or borrowing relationship.
- Build trusting relationships with organizations, community and customers by keeping a visible presence within the local community by display of service, commitment and follow through.
- Active in community outreach activities, nonprofit and civic organizations, along with the local chamber of commerce.
- Proficient with lending policy, regulations, pricing and product information. Regulatory knowledge including privacy, safeguarding customer information, Regulation B, Equal Credit Opportunity, Truth in Lending, CRA, HMDA, and flood regulations.
- Manage delinquent account files for the financial institution.
- Cross sells to customers. Actively initiate business contacts to develop relationships and promote bank products and appropriate services. Make quality referrals to other business lines such as Mortgages, Investments, Cash Management and Lending.
- Attract new loan applications by developing relationships within the market, making calls to prospective businesses, customers, and contacts to generate leads and expand the business.
- Review business development goals with Market President and promote these goals in a positive and professional manner that will represent the Bank with a high level of integrity. Coordinate with management to proactively develop strategies to cultivate and implement initiatives that increase First Security Bank’s visibility within the surrounding community.
- Business travel between branches, attending community activities, and meeting with clients may be required. A valid driver’s license and personal vehicle that may be used for business travel purposes are also required.
- Adhere to strict privacy regarding customer account information. Maintain customer confidence and protect bank operations by keeping information confidential.
- Arrive to work on time, work on site and collaborate with other coworkers. Willingness to extend working hours where necessary to accommodate the completion of varied tasks on behalf of the customers.
- Additional duties may be assigned by management.
SUPERVISORY RESPONSIBILITIES: This job has no supervisory responsibilities.

PHYSICAL DEMANDS
Possess sufficient mobility to work in a standard office setting. Perform repetitive hand, arm, wrist, and finger movements while handling currency, documents and/or office equipment. Substantial time may be spent on the telephone, operating computers, reaching, sitting, and/or standing, while occasionally stooping, kneeling or crouching. The employee must have the ability to speak and hear well enough to carry on customer interactions, conversations, and presentations both in-person and over telecommunications. Have near/far visual acuity to identify customers, currency and reading materials in printed or electronic format. The employee must occasionally lift and move up to 30 pounds. Ability to hold a valid driver's license with access to a vehicle that can be used for business travel purposes.
