Share Email Opening Apply Now Title Engineering Support SME  Req Number ENG-25-00023   Requisition Category Active   Full-Time/Part-Time Full-Time   Location Dayton, OH   Description   Position Location: Wright Patterson AFB, Dayton OH (on-site) About the Role: The Air Force Life Cycle Management Center Special Programs Office (AFLCMC/WAG) develops tests, and rapidly fields classified Air Force aeronautical capabilities. Executing a significant budget, AFLCMC/WAG conducts studies to identify new capabilities; transitions laboratory technologies to operational platforms; executes demonstrations; and develops, tests, and rapidly fields new capabilities for the warfighter. The primary task is to support the acquisition of aircraft systems and subsystems.   Experience Requirements: 20 years of relevant experience- 3 of the last 5 years must be in an SAP environment Apply knowledge of and expertise in DoD, USAF, and common engineering and scientific principles, criteria, and procedures to improve planned and existing USAF and joint service weapon system manufacture, operations, re-manufacture and de-militarization operations and oversight. Assist in translating user requirements into system requirements, which will be used to design, develop, fabricate, test, and evaluate systems, subsystems, and equipment for deployment. Assist with the development of requirements and technology needs into action plans and policies necessary to improve and retain world class manufacturing, operations, re-manufacturing, and de-militarization of weapon system capabilities. Perform technical/mission analyses of existing and potential operational requirements, assists in developing system concepts and performs technological and trade-off study assessments of proposed designs. Develop and review the overall system design baseline ( architecture and interoperability requirements). Assist with developmental planning support in the evaluation of military missions to be accomplished and related requirements documentation including defining the set of military missions to be performed. Review and analyze proposals, including regulatory and other policy driver changes or proposed modifications for design feasibility and system compatibility. Review specifications, including system, system segment, and equipment specifications, and interface control documents involved in programs. Support and conduct engineering performance, effectiveness, cost effectiveness, cost performance, lifecycle cost, producibility, maintainability, supportability, reliability, technical, and schedule risk assessment and scheduling trade-off studies. Support and conduct systems analyses to include, but not limited to, system design/design feasibility and state-of-the-art assessment. Support the development and evaluation of IMP, IMS, and Systems Engineering Detail Schedule engineering cost estimates. Evaluate systems test plans and Test and Evaluation Master Plans and participate in the conduct of system, subsystem, and component testing. Provide systems/subsystems integration support for the acquisition, development, and verification of systems and equipment. Support weapons systems lifecycle including, but not limited to, analysis of alternatives, creation of investment strategies, manufacturing, support, and end-of-life processes. Teach learning modules within AT courses to industry and government participants and assist in curriculum development, as required. Lead creation (technical writing) and maintenance of multiple collateral and SAP SCGs Be responsible for staffing and coordination with multiple DoD service and industry security, technical, financial, and contracting working groups to review and adjudicate SCG feedback comments for approval of the SCGs. Staff and publish SCGs to support the entire DoD AT community. Provide additional support, under optional position, as needed for transition or other expertise.   Education Requirements: Master of Science (MS)/Master of Arts (MA) or higher in a relevant engineering discipline In lieu of the MS/MA or higher in a relevant engineering discipline, a BS in a relevant engineering discipline and a MS/MA or higher, or an equivalent professional degree. An engineering technology degree does not meet this requirement Perform other duties, as assigned. Other Required Skills & Abilities: Must be able to effectively communicate with customer and fulfill all duties and responsibilities as listed in the contract. Must be proficient in Microsoft Office suite including, but not limited to: Word, PowerPoint, Excel, and Outlook. Security Clearance Requirements: Must possess an active Top Secret (TS) security clearance, current with in 5 years, based upon a Single Scope Background Investigation (SSBI)/Tier 5 or SSBI Periodic Review (SBPR)/Tier 5R and be eligible for Sensitive Compartmented Information (SCI) and SAP access.
