Store Manager
Position Summary:
Responsible for operation of the assigned store including implementation of all operational, marketing, merchandising, customer relations, and human resources strategies in the store. Responsible for the creation of all store forecasts, budgets, plans and profitability of the store.
Duties and Responsibilities
-Sets fair but challenging goals and standards for subordinates
- Ensure quality and timeliness of subordinate work
-Delegates work fairly
-Ensures subordinates understand position responsibilities
-Accurately identifies and communicates strengths and weaknesses
-Rewards and discipline subordinates fairly for work performed
-Ensure subordinates receive proper developmental training
-Ensures store security, safety, physical appearance and cleanliness.
-Promotes and enforces company guidelines, policies and procedures.
-Creates all store and department budgets, forecasts and plans, and manage related expenses. Achieve budgeted payroll and expense ratios through the involvement and support of the store team.
-Reviews local competition from the customer’s perspective, to assure the store’s continued success in the community.
-Formulates possible strategies to gain the edge.
-Maintain company service standards with a queue of three at the checkout.
-Provide a customer-responsive environment at the checkout with attentive, friendly and caring employees.
-Maintain budget expense ratios for bagging supplies through “bagman ship” and a complete “pack out”.
-Assures the proper execution of all merchandising, operating and marketing programs established by the Retail Procurement department and District Manager.
-Works with Product Supervisors to identify specific presentations and promotions.
-Ensure product presentations meet company standards.
-Be accountable for 100% follow-through on all revenue generating plans, i.e. mandatory displays and schematics.
-Oversees store-ordering process to assure adequate supplies.
-Communicates local buying opportunities to Product Supervisors and recommend store level promotional opportunities.
-Achieve inventory shrink ratio results through the use of “heads up” approach to loss prevention and store forward buying.
-Ensure overall quality of store employees through employee development and training. Monitors employee performance and is responsible for supervision and discipline.
-Responsible for hiring Courtesy Clerks and needed personnel, following guidelines established by Human Resources. Assist in identifying and recommending management-potential candidates.
-Eliminate workers’ compensation experience through store safety programs.
