SUMMARY

Ensure all packaging of loans, originated by loan officers, are accurate and completed in a timely manner. Analyze applicants’ financial status and ability to repay loans. This position requires employees to work on-site.

QUALIFICATIONS | EDUCATION | EXPERIENCE | SKILLS

To perform this job successfully, an individual must be able to perform each essential duty satisfactorily. The requirements listed below are representative of the knowledge, skill, and/or ability required.

  • High School Diploma or GED will be required.
  • 4 years prior mortgage loan processing experience required.
  • Strong understanding of all phases of loan processing in secondary market mortgage lending required.
  • Proficiency with Encompass, Outlook, Word, Excel, typing, 10-key and utilization of the internet is required.
  • Willingness to demonstrate Core 5 values with customers and coworkers.

HOURS OF AVAILABILITY: Regularly Scheduled Hours/Week: 40 hours per week | Monday- Friday 8:00am-5:00pm | *Extended working hours may be required.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

  1. Effectively and professionally communicate with borrowers regarding any documents that may assist in ordering and retrieving third party documentation. May also be required to communicate with other professionals, including realtors, attorneys, county clerks and title companies.
  2. Actively communicate status updates to all internal and external parties; including immediate escalations regarding concerns on third-party loan documentation delays.
  3. Ensure all internal daily, weekly, and monthly requirements related to successful ordering, retrieval, document review, and system updates, are made in timely and accurate fashion.
  4. Evaluate underwriting requirements to ensure documents meet required specifications.
  5. Receive, scan and/or upload documents into the Loan Origination System. Accurately file loan packages and ensure customer documents are kept organized.
  6. Act as the single point of contact for all third-party document ordering, fulfillment, and criteria evaluation. Third-party documentation includes, but is not limited to, appraisals, title work, payoff statements, homeowners’ insurance, flood certifications and insurance, homeowner’s association documentation, verbal and written verification of employment etc.
  7. Work effectively with the various departmental team members to ensure assigned loans are timely and accurately processed in compliance with policies/procedures and all state and federal laws.
  8. Interface between loan processor, senior loan officer/mortgage loan originator, underwriter, mortgage lender or mortgage banker, and realtors on behalf of the applicant as needed to ensure a successful loan transaction.
  9. Meet deadlines and quality standards. Demonstrate responsibilities for multi-faceted direction and planning.
  10. Assist with keeping the office properly stocked with supplies and marketing materials.
  11. Adhere to strict privacy regarding customer account information. Maintain customer confidence and protect bank operations keeping information confidential.
  12. Operate computer, telephone, keyboard, scanner and copier. Proficiency with internal bank software, FIS ISView and Loan Operations Platform will be required.
  13. Able to hold a valid driver's license, have access to reliable transportation for arriving at work on time, work on-site at assigned location, and a willingness to extend working hours when necessary.
  14. Additional duties may be assigned by management.

SUPERVISORY RESPONSIBILITIES: This job has no supervisory responsibilities.

PHYSICAL DEMANDS

The employee must possess sufficient mobility to work in and move about in a standard office setting and sufficient hand, arm, and finger dexterity to operate a computer keyboard and other office equipment. Substantial time may be spent on the telephone and working on a computer, sitting and/or standing. The employee must have the ability to hear and articulate well enough to carry on a normal conversation, both in person and over the telephone. Visual abilities required by this job include the ability to read materials in either a printed format or on a computer screen. The employee must occasionally lift and move up to 10 pounds.

MENTAL DEMANDS

The duties of this position require strong independent problem-solving skills to manage multiple projects and their accurate and timely completion. Able to interact with and lead others in a calm and patient manner; maintaining confidentiality and professionalism in all situations. Able to analyze information, evaluate options, and make sound judgements in a timely manner. Strong mathematical competency related to currency including, adding, subtracting, multiplying, and dividing whole numbers, fractions and decimals. This position also requires the ability to read and interpret documents, draft instructions or presentations and articulate complex information in written or oral form.
