At Assurety, all employees share one job description: to keep our customers satisfied, help grow the company, and join a team where your voice matters and your skills are valued.

Summary: Assurety is a trusted leader in postal, logistics, finance, and education, delivering innovative, data-driven solutions that enhance compliance, efficiency, and customer experience. We are seeking an accomplished Business Technical Analyst II to join a dynamic and collaborative technical team. In this role, you will develop and manage business, functional, and technical requirements across multiple business domains, including financial, compliance, accounting, mailing, marketing, sales, and service quality tracking systems.

This position demands prior experience with data-driven B2B systems, exceptional communication skills, and a proactive, detail-oriented approach. You’ll be the bridge between clients, developers, QA analysts, and product owners—gathering requirements, translating them into actionable specifications, and sometimes rolling up your sleeves to support QA efforts. If you enjoy turning complex data into clear business solutions and can speak both “tech” and “client”, we’d like to meet you.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Serve as the primary point of contact on assigned tasks and projects, tracking progress and reporting status to leadership and clients.
  • Lead and support technical, functional and data design activities across projects, ensuring alignment with business objectives.
  • Elicit, analyze and document complex business and functional requirements; translate business needs into clear, actionable development and QA specifications.
  • Collaborate with UI/UX designers to ensure interfaces meet user needs and provide a smooth customer experience.
  • Analyze API integrations and data-exchange processes, documenting data flows and ensuring data quality.
  • Plan, execute and manage functional and data-driven QA testing, including writing and executing scripts and automation as needed.
  • Conduct data manipulation and testing using flat files, XML and JSON; perform SQL queries and data analysis to validate requirements.
  • Assist in onboarding new customers and provide software functionality support to clients.
  • Provide internal team coverage and cross-functional support as needed.
  • Facilitate communication between business stakeholders and development teams to ensure shared understanding of requirements.
  • Develop detailed deliverables including functional and technical requirements, workflow and data flow diagrams, use cases, screen/interface designs, training/user guides, and other technical documentation.

Qualifications:

Required:

  • Minimum 5 years of experience in business analysis, business process re-engineering, and solution documentation, including at least one end-to-end project as a requirements analyst.
  • Strong client-facing communication and collaboration skills; proven ability to translate complex technical information for non-technical stakeholders.
  • Prior experience with QA testing and automation (writing and executing scripts).
  • Strong SQL development and relational-database experience; ability to think in terms of data models and conduct data analysis/modeling.
  • Expertise in XML, JSON, and data-file manipulation.
  • Experience with customer onboarding and technical product support.
  • Proficiency in technical writing and documentation; ability to deliver precise, comprehensive requirements, diagrams, and user guides.
  • Bachelor’s degree in computer science, Information Systems or a related field (master’s degree is a plus).
  • Must be a U.S. citizen or authorized to work full-time in the United States, with the ability to obtain a Sensitive Level Public Trust government clearance.

Preferred

  • Experience with enterprise requirement management tools and methodologies.
  • Experience working on financial or compliance-related platforms.
  • Background in software engineering or past development experience.
  • Experience with usability analysis and collaborating on UI/UX designs.
  • Familiarity with Agile/Scrum methodologies.
  • Prior consulting or professional services experience.
  • Self-motivated, proactive, and dependable with the ability to manage multiple projects and competing priorities.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving capabilities; comfortable working in a fast-paced, evolving technical environment.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills; ability to explain complex topics succinctly and with empathy.
  • Team-oriented mindset with a collaborative spirit and a willingness to support colleagues as needed.

What Success Looks Like in This Role:

  • You quickly become the go-to expert on the systems and data domains you support, trusted by clients and colleagues alike.
  • You consistently deliver accurate, complete solution documentation—with technical user stories, flowcharts, and data specifications—on or ahead of deadlines without constant supervision.
  • You proactively flag potential compliance or operational risks before they become issues and work with stakeholders to mitigate them.
  • You bridge the gap between business needs and technical implementation with precision and clarity, ensuring developers have the information they need to build the right solution the first time.
  • You support strong technical solution documents for requirements, user stories, and external API and data specifications that stand up to scrutiny.
  • You foster strong relationships with customers and internal teams, helping new clients onboard smoothly and providing ongoing support with a smile.
