Full-Time/Part-Time PRN  
Description

The Echo Technologist at Patients ER and Hospital will be responsible for:

  1. Operating Echo equipment to produce images of the body for diagnostic purposes, as directed by the Cardiologist.
  2. Proficiently perform Echo procedures for the diagnostic purposes in the emergency department and other areas according to department protocols and in collaboration with the cardiologist and their needs for diagnosis and treatment plans.
  3. Inform interpreting physician if an abnormal finding and/or a hemodynamically significant change is present from previous examination.
  4. Utilize Infection Control principles when performing exams.
  5. Maintain all policy and procedures in sterilizing transducers and logging all documentation for quality and infection control programs when applicable.
  6. Appropriately and completely enter all required data into PACS/EMR systems.
  7. Exhibits technical knowledge and expertise of the job when collaborating with physician, nurses, and patients.
  8. Communicating effectively with co-workers, patients, and families.
  9. Maintaining professionalism in the job performance and practices.
  10. Adhering to the guiding principles and policies set forth by Patients Emergency Room and Hospital.
  11. Completing all technical skills check off, showing competency in skills necessary to assist in the daily operations of Patient’s Emergency Room and Hospital.
  12. All other duties as assigned.
 
Position Requirements

Position Requirements

The requirements for employment with Patients ER and Hospital are:

  • Current licensure as a Registered Diagnostic Cardiac Sonographer (RDCS)
  • Minimum 1-3 years of experience in a related field.
  • CPR certification

 

  • Maintains level of continuing education, collaborative training, and interactions in designated radiological field.

 

  • Preferred Adult Echocardiography (AE) Examination.

 

Physical Demands

 

Standing and walking Twisting

Lifting and Carrying Bending/Stooping

Capable of lifting up to 50 lbs., with assistance Working with chemicals

Working near Radiation sources

Potential exposure to communicable diseases
