We're seeking an experienced electrical distribution products General Manager to spearhead operations and inspire a top-performing team.
Wiseway Supply is the most knowledgeable and accommodating distributor of name-brand electrical, plumbing, and lighting supplies in the Northern Kentucky and Greater Cincinnati area, and parts of Indiana. For more than 50 years, Wiseway has provided personalized service and deep product expertise, distributing trusted name-brand supplies to commercial and residential contractors, and retail customers.
About the Role:
This is a full-time, on-site role for a General Manager located in the Cincinnati Metropolitan Area. As the General Manager, you’ll play a critical role in shaping the strategic direction and operational success of the region. This is a high-visibility, high-accountability leadership position with full P&L responsibility. Your mission? The General Manager is responsible for overseeing daily sales of electrical & plumbing product sales and operations, managing staff, ensuring customer satisfaction, and achieving sales targets. Tasks include developing strategies to improve efficiency, monitoring inventory levels, coordinating with suppliers, and maintaining high standards of store presentation. The role also involves analyzing sales data, creating reports, and making data-driven decisions to optimize performance.
Qualifications
- Experience in electrical distribution product sales, operations management and staff supervision
- Strong customer service skills and ability to ensure customer satisfaction
- Proficiency in sales management and achieving sales targets
- Ability to develop and implement strategies for improved efficiency
- Experience with inventory management and supplier coordination
- Analytical skills to analyze sales data and generate reports
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
- Relevant qualifications and experience in distribution, retail, or related fields; preferably at least 5 years’ experience in a senior leadership role with wholesale distribution; electrical and plumbing products is a plus.
- Bachelor’s degree in Business Administration, Management, or related field is preferred
Key Responsibilities
1. Financial Performance
- Own the regional P&L, budgeting, forecasting, and EBITDA growth
- Execute a business plan that drives cost control and profitable expansion
- Report financial performance to the President and Executive Team
2. Sales Leadership
- Direct Inside/Outside Sales teams and assign accounts to drive revenue
- Strengthening customer relationships and expand strategic accounts
- Achieve margin goals and grow counter sales across branch locations
- Strengthen relationships with manufacturer partners
3. Customer Excellence
- Deliver customer satisfaction that exceeds expectations
- Resolve issues promptly and ensure service KPIs are met
4. Operational Leadership
- Align staffing to revenue and profitability targets
- Oversee day-to-day operations and implement process improvements
5. Team Development
- Recruit, train, and retain high-performing branch leaders and staff
- Foster a results-driven, collaborative culture
6. Inventory Management
- Monitor stock levels to ensure accuracy and availability
- Implement control measures to minimize excess and obsolete inventory
7. Marketing, Growth & Supplier Partnerships
- Analyze trends, develop regional strategies, and grow market share
- Collaborate with suppliers and marketing to position us as a partner of choice
8. Safety & Compliance
- Maintain a safe, compliant work environment
- Proactively mitigate risks and enforce company policies
What We're Looking For
- Bachelor’s degree or equivalent experience managing a full P&L
- 5+ years leadership role in wholesale/distribution in the electrical and plumbing products categories
- Deep knowledge of sales strategy, operations, inventory, and forecasting
- Strong communicator, motivator, and strategic thinker
- Hands-on experience with ERP, WMS, SPARXiQ, PHOCAS, and Office 365
- Proven success in driving results through people and process
Physical & Work Requirements
- Ability to walk, lift (up to 70 lbs), and work in warehouse/office settings
- Flexibility to travel regionally and occasionally attend industry events
- Willingness to work extended hours when necessary
