Position Summary:
The Assistant Vice President of Sales Operations is responsible for managing the company’s sales distribution strategy and overseeing the operational functions that ensure products reach customers in timely, cost-effective, and efficient manner. This role collaborates with branch operations, key accounts, marketing, route level RSR’s and Franchisees. Major focus is on driving revenue growth while controlling returns to have maximum focus on freshness and store supply for customer retention.


Essential Job Functions:

  • Ensure that the sales distribution system is scalable, sustainable, and meets the needs of the business.
  • Coaching and building team support and morale for overall success.
  • Developing sales ideas and contests to help the overall growth of units.
  • Oversee daily operations of the distribution and logistics teams, ensuring smooth, efficient product delivery to customers. (e.g., through new partners, digital platforms, or geographic expansion).
  • Ability to sell display programs at higher mgmt. DSD level. (market directors, VP’s, etc.)
  • Direct critical relationships with branch management/personnel, production, distribution, safety and key accounts.
  • Implement and manage key performance indicators (KPIs) for distribution operations to track performance and identify areas for improvement.
  • Establish and nurture relationships with key customers and stakeholders to understand their needs, drive sales growth and create seamless experience for clients.
  • Provide input into product development and pricing strategies based on sales and market insights by reviewing sales trends and sales history for adjustments to overall plan of ordering and service.
  • Ensure high levels of customer satisfaction by overseeing the timely fulfillment of orders and addressing any issues or concerns.
  • Direct responsibility with assigned Director of Sales for Company directions and agendas.
  • Performs other related duties as assigned.

 

Minimum Position Qualifications/Education:

  • Bachelor’s degree in business administration, sales, marketing, or a related field preferred. Experience in DSD sales at a higher level will be considered in place of degree.
  • 5+ years of leadership experience in positions of increasing responsibility.
  • Experience working in a Direct Store Delivery environment.
  • Demonstrated leadership skills, exhibiting a high degree of drive and energy and the ability to consistently produce results.

Skills:

  • Proven track record of success in driving sales growth and optimizing distribution operations.
  • Strong understanding of supply chain management, logistics, and sales forecasting.
  • Exceptional leadership and team management skills, with the ability to motivate and inspire teams.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to build relationships at all levels of the organization.
  • Data-driven decision maker with strong analytical and problem-solving abilities.
  • Approximately 25% travel in assigned area.

 

Working Conditions:

  • Prolonged periods sitting at a desk and working on a computer.
  • Must be able to work on unforgiving surfaces and access store and warehouse environments.
  • Must be available during peak season, weekends and holidays to meet business needs.
  • High level continued interaction with the Director of Sales for your assigned area.
