Summary/Objective:

We are seeking a creative, social video-savvy Senior Manager of Social Video to lead vertical content creation and take full ownership of vertical video social channels with a focus on the Academy Museum. This role will be at the forefront of producing culturally relevant short-form video content, managing the full lifecycle of social video creation from ideation and production to publishing and performance tracking across platforms like TikTok, YouTube Shorts, and Instagram Reels. While the focus is on growing the Academy Museum’s vertical video presence, this position also supports broader digital video initiatives across the Academy’s social platforms and the organization.

Responsibilities include managing social content capture at Museum events, optimizing vertical content in-app and using 3rd party software, supporting video production logistics, producing and collaborating with influencer partnerships, tracking invoices, along with ensuring effective communication across departments and with external partners. The ideal candidate thrives in fast-paced creative environments, understands current social media trends and formats, and brings strong storytelling instincts to vertical video content that elevates the Academy brands while driving engagement.

This role reports to and operates under the direction of the Associate Director of Video Production and is vital for maintaining the smooth operation of our video production efforts. Additionally, this position will partner and collaborate with the Social Media pillar of the Digital Marketing department, as well as Content Strategy and other members of the team.

 

Essential Functions of the Job:

Academy Museum TikTok Management:

  • Lead content strategy and production for the Academy Museum’s TikTok.
  • Ideate original and reactive video concepts, attend Museum events for on-the-ground content capture, develop UGC and produced videos, write post copy, and collaborate across channels to maximize exposure to promote attendance/ticket sales.
  • Coordinate and produce in partnership with influencers and creator campaigns.
  • Track and synthesize content performance for regular reporting and data analysis.

 

YouTube Management:

  • Support the editing, uploading, SEO-optimized titling, thumbnail creation, scheduling, and performance tracking of videos across the Academy’s YouTube ecosystem.

 

Content Distribution:

  • Ensure final video edits are appropriately routed and scheduled across all Academy social channels.

 

Museum Production Liaison:

  • Coordinate content capture at the Academy Museum, working closely with facilities, security, exhibitions, and other Museum departments.

 

On-Set and Media Management:

  • Assist with on-set video production as needed, organize media files, and manage digital assets across platforms and internal systems.

 

Creative and Strategic Support:

  • Pitch compelling, social-first video ideas for all Academy digital platforms, informed by trend research and audience insights.

 

Studio and Talent Communication:

  • Act as a liaison with studio marketing teams and talent reps for interviews and social video shoots.

 

Video Production & QC:

  • Assist with hands-on editing in Adobe Premiere Pro, ensuring video content meets brand and quality standards before publishing.

 

Invoice and Workflow Management:

  • Track production budgets and invoices; use project management tools like Click-Up and Airtable to stay organized and streamline workflows.

 

Cross-Team Collaboration:

  • Work directly with the Social and Content Strategy teams within the Digital Marketing Department on initiatives and concepts, along with other colleagues within the department. Maintain smooth and timely communication between the Academy’s national and Museum teams to align messaging and deliverables.

 

Required Competencies:

  • A bachelor’s degree in film, communications, media production, or a related field is required; equivalent professional experience may be considered in lieu of a degree.
  • 4+ years of experience in digital video production and/or social media.
  • Expertise in short-form vertical video production and social media storytelling.
  • Intermediate proficiency in Adobe Creative Cloud (especially Premiere Pro), graphic design/motion graphics experience is a plus.
  • Strong organizational and communication skills, with experience using tools like Click-Up or Airtable.
  • Familiarity with video production workflows, codecs, FTP systems, and asset management.
  • Ability to analyze performance data using tools like YouTube Studio, TikTok analytics, or Google Analytics.
  • Availability to work flexible hours depending on events and content needs.

Compensation: The expected base salary is $85,000.00. The actual base pay offered will be determined by factors such as experience, skills, training, location, certifications, education, and other factors permitted by law. Decisions will be made on a case-by-case basis.
