Residential Counselor - Part-time (evenings & weekends)

Volunteers of America-MN is dedicated to helping people in need. Our Omegon facility, located in Minnetonka, provides chemical dependency and mental health residential treatment for adolescents ages 12 to 17. This is one of the few children’s programs in the state that can treat patients with dual diagnosis.
A Residential Counselor participates as a critical member of an interdisciplinary team of professionals and provides direct services to teens with chemical dependency and psychiatric needs. This position is responsible for working directly with clients to provide for their care, welfare, safety, and protection as they take their journey to undergo treatment in accordance with the mission’s philosophy and program goals. Residential Counselor’s implement appropriate treatment plans and goals that are suitable to the age and functionality of the individual as well as document a client’s progress throughout their stay.
This is an entry-level position that provides opportunities for professional development in the areas of applied behavior analysis, human services and working with children with mental health and chemical dependency needs. This is a part-time position working approximatey 20-25 hours per week. Predominately, the shift will be day/evening and be on the weekend. A mandetory, all-team Tuesday morning is also required. Starting pay is $12.00 per hour. Omegon is located near public transportation.
