Description

Summary of Role:

The Compliance Manager is responsible for developing and maintaining the company's compliance program. This includes ensuring and maintaining compliance with governmental laws and regulations and implementing compliance regulations into business practices. The Compliance Manager serves as a subject matter expert and should demonstrate an understanding of current laws, regulations and billing practices.

 

Responsibilities:

The Compliance Manager is responsible for the following: 

  • Develop and maintain the Company’s compliance program.
  • Demonstrate a strong understanding of current and proposed legislation. Research and monitor developments in federal and state laws, regulations, policies and guidance, including Department of Health and Human Services (DHHS), Office of Inspector General (OIG), Center for Medicaid Services (CMS) and HIPAA regulations.
  • Serves as a subject matter expert for compliance protocols, providing information to leadership regarding compliance-related issues.
  • Provides input and assist with response to external audits or inquiries.
  • Document and notify leadership of suspected non-compliance
  • Develop and oversee appropriate notification processes to inform ordering physicians about the Company’s compliance program standards with respect to coding, billing, sales and marketing.
  • Perform billing analytics including reviewing billing data, utilization trends and reporting
  • Conduct audits to determine compliance with federal, state and healthcare billing requirements and contract provisions.
  • Lead compliance projects (as needed).  
  • Provides subject matter advice to all departments regarding compliance.
  • Maintain the confidentiality of sensitive business information related to clients, patients, and employees.
  • Represent department and the organization favorably and in accordance with established Company standards.

 

Work Scheule:

  • Monday through Friday 9:00 AM EST – 5:30 PM EST
  • Shifts extend until work is completed
  • Remote

 

Salary Range: 

  • $70,000 - $90,000/annually
 
Position Requirements

Education:

Bachelor’s Degree in healthcare or related field

Experience:

  • 3 plus years of Healthcare Compliance-related experience required
  • Healthcare billing experience required
  • Previous laboratory experience preferred
  • Knowledge of Medicare and Medicaid billing requirements
  • Knowledge of healthcare compliance audit methodologies, principles and techniques
