The software engineer will play an integral role in design, development and maintenance of the Ascentis HCM product suite. Key responsibilities include: Understand requirements working with product management Design, develop and test features based on requirements Participate in design and code reviews for other members of the team Analyze and resolve issues identified in production environment     Position Requirements Strong CS fundamentals: you will work with some of the leading edge technology in building a highly scalable, flexible and extensible platform  BS degree in CS or related field 5+ years of experience Extensive experience with Java and Java based frameworks and strong grasp on fundamentals Familiarity with modern messaging frameworks like Socket.io, websockets etc. Experience with SOA, SaaS based applications is a plus Comfortable with design patterns and best practices and good analytical skills: we want to be able to read your code but avoid over-engineering Experience with financial applications or complex systems Experience in Agile, TDD, and continuous integration Demonstrated ability to explore new technology and apply it to meet current business needs Ping Pong skills a plus     Location Bellevue   About the Organization The Ascentis mission is to create innovative products that are easy to use for the often under-served mid-market that cover the full Human Capital Management (HCM) suite.
