We’re seeking a General Manager with a visionary and entrepreneurial mindset to lead the Wild Muse retail store and drive innovation at the intersection of retail, entertainment, and culture. This role oversees all aspects of Wild Muse operations with a strong focus on product curation, merchandising, and alignment with AREA15’s event calendar and brand aesthetic. The ideal candidate brings operational expertise, creativity, and a passion for scaling performance while staying ahead of fashion and cultural trends.

RESPONSIBILITIES AND DUTIES:

  • Oversee daily operations of Wild Muse, managing sales associates and supporting team leads Monitor and stay on top of emerging trends in fashion, ravewear, alternative luxury, and event merchandising.
  • Manage mobile retail logistics, inventory movement, staffing, and visual merchandising for temporary shops.
  • Collaborate cross-functionally with Events and Entertainment teams to align products with programming.
  • Develop pop-up retail activations and themed product assortments tailored to each AREA15 event.
  • Stay ahead of trends in festival fashion, rave culture, nightlife accessories, and alternative luxury.
  • Ensure visual merchandising reflects the vibe and identity of both Wild Muse and the event experience at all times.
  • Ensure top-tier guest experience through staff training, performance coaching, and consistent service standards.
  • Identify, source and buy trendy, on-brand products inspired by AREA15’s nightlife, immersive entertainment, and festival culture.
  • Analyze sales data and guest feedback to make informed decisions on product selection, staffing needs, and marketing strategies.
  • Drive financial performance through strategic leadership, inventory optimization, and sales initiatives.
  • Overseeing staff payroll, scheduling, and recruitment/training of staff.
  • Responsible for conducting staff trainings, motivation, one on ones, and corrective coaching.
  • Partner with warehouse and logistics teams to ensure product flow and staffing efficiency.
  • Manage items, transactions, and basic upkeep of the POS system.
  • Curate product drops and capsule collections specifically designed for AREA15 events (Odyssey Noir, cocktail events, etc.).
  • Contribute to annual retail strategy, growth planning, and forecasting.
  • Identify new product categories and opportunities for in-house branding or collaborations.
  • Demonstrate ART! (AREA15's service standards) in every guest interaction.
  • Adhere to department and company policies and procedures.
  • Respond to time sensitive matters.
  • Maintain a professional, polished appearance in line with AREA15 standards.
  • Work various shifts, including nights, weekends, and holidays.
  • Perform other work-related duties as assigned.

Position Requirements

QUALIFICATIONS & SKILLS

  • Applicants must be 21 years of age or older
  • Proof of eligibility to work in the United States
  • Comfortable working in a creative, entrepreneurial start-up environment, introducing new concepts and innovations.
  • Minimum 5 years of experience in retail management, fashion buying, or event-driven merchandising, preferably in an experiential, fashion, lifestyle, or entertainment retail environment.
  • Experience in nightlife retail, such as pop-ups at festivals, club merchandise, or boutique ravewear brands is highly preferred.
  • Experience launching and managing pop-up retail and mobile retail environments, particularly in high-traffic, fast-faced festival or event settings.
  • Demonstrated experience curating culturally relevant merchandise and managing trend-forward retail collections.
  • Deep cultural understanding of nightlife, immersive events, music festivals, and related fashion communities.
  • Strong leadership and team-building skills with the ability to inspire, mentor, and manage diverse teams.
  • Excellent organizational and communication skills; ability to manage multiple cross-functional projects.
  • Creative problem-solver with a passion for trend-spotting and brand storytelling.
  • Experience with POS systems and retail operations best practices.
  • Must be able to individually lift and carry 50 lbs and stand/walk/bend/lift for extended periods of time.
  • Ability to work in all weather conditions including but not limited to extreme heat, sun exposure, wind, rain, extreme cold.
  • Ability to understand, speak, read, and write the English language.
  • Computer skills in Microsoft applications. (Excel, Outlook, Word, etc.)
  • Availability for varied shifts, including evenings, weekends, and holidays.
  • Ability to work in an environment subject to varying levels of noise, crowds, flashing lights, and smoke.
