Region 4 Compliance Supervisor 

Description

Performs difficult professional and administrative work coordinating and supervising compliance and quality activities, supervising the work of assigned staff in the Region 4 Programs Division, ensuring the quality of core Crisis Hub functions, coordinating with other divisions and stakeholders, maintaining records and files, preparing reports, and related work as apparent or assigned. Work is performed under the limited supervision of the Region 4 Hub Programs Manager. Supervision is exercised over subordinate personnel.

Essential Functions

Serves as a working supervisor to ensure the core functions of Crisis Hub are completed to include:

Reviews and revises, as needed, Region 4 Hub policies and procedures in alignment with DBHDS and DMAS regulations, and regional goals, objectives, and priorities.

Performs administrative audits as needed in support of the Region 4 Hub MOU process to retain and maintain qualified providers to deliver crisis services and ensure compliance with Licensure (DBHDS), Department of Medical Assistance Services (DMAS), Managed Care Organizations (MCO's), Medicare and agency standards.

Oversees compliance with Region 4 Hub performance improvement and review process for contracted providers of mobile crisis services by reviewing, logging, and reporting per agency, DBHDS, and MCO/DMAS requirements.

Leads regional Review Team per PIP policy and procedure.

Ensures quality review of state Virginia Crisis Connect data and information; data and information from Regional Crisis Call Center; and data from Region 4 Hub in support of effort to ensure appropriate capacity for quality mobile crisis response services throughout Region 4.

Develops strategies/reports to monitor compliance and changes with various regulations/regulatory bodies.

Provides and or directs the provision of education/training/technical assistance as needed to address findings from quality reviews to support compliance with Hub MOU requirements, best practices, regulatory compliance, and per regulatory bodies.

Assists in developing plans of performance improvement (PIP) as issued by the Region 4 Hub.

Performs look behind audits based on PIP data to improve quality outcomes. Summarizes review findings for submission to division and regional leadership.

Directs, delivers and or supports development of reports and presentations relative to operations of Region 4 Hub.

Identifies areas for Hub-operated improvement strategies.

Directs and supervises the work of the Region 4 Hub Coordinator and Care Navigator.

Assists with special projects as needed and assigned.

Serves on a variety of committees as directed; attends and participates in a variety of meetings.

Attends professional conferences and trainings as required.

Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities

Thorough knowledge of the principles, standards, practices and techniques of clinical practices in multi service behavioral health setting; thorough knowledge of best practices/standards of individual care, clinical documentation and quality control thorough knowledge of local and state rules, regulations, procedures and policies pertaining to behavioral health services; thorough knowledge of State and local licensure requirements, Medicaid regulations; ability to interpret and apply regulations; ability to accurately maintain confidentiality of records and reports. Strong problem solving and analytical skills with the ability to work independently and as a part of a team. Ability to supervise the work of others; ability to solve problems within scope of responsibility; possess strong communication skills, ability to communicate effectively orally and in writing; ability to prepare and present reports and recommendations; ability to establish and maintain effective working relationships with associates, subordinates, directors, individuals served, medical personnel, community partners and the public.

 
Position Requirements

Education and Experience

License/master’s degree preferred in behavioral health or related field, moderate experience in human services/behavioral health and compliance activities in an auditing capacity, supervisory experience or equivalent combination of education and experience to include 5 + years of auditing experience.

Physical Requirements

This is sedentary work requiring the exertion of up to 10 pounds of force occasionally and a negligible amount of force frequently or constantly to move objects; work requires fingering, and repetitive motions; vocal communication is required for expressing or exchanging ideas by means of the spoken word; hearing is required to perceive information at normal spoken word levels, and to receive detailed information through oral communications and/or to make fine distinctions in sound; visual acuity is required for preparing and analyzing written or computer data, operation of motor vehicles or equipment, determining the accuracy and thoroughness of work, and observing general surroundings and activities; the worker is not subject to adverse environmental conditions.

Special Requirements

Valid driver’s license in the Commonwealth of Virginia.

Starting Salary Range Supervisor I $61,868.12 | Supervisor II $68,209.60
