As we reopen our Port Huron dental clinic, we’re looking for a Dental Hygienist who’s driven to deliver exceptional care and create meaningful patient experiences.

This position will be initially located out of our New Haven medical facility at 58144 Gratiot Avenue and will then transfer to our Port Huron location once the dental clinic reopens.

 

What You Will Do:

  • Build rapport with patient(s), paying attention to detail and providing excellent customer service through positive, professional interaction
  • Review and document patient dental history accurately and in detail as well as any current issues/concerns in EMR
  • Evaluate overall oral health, examining oral cavity for signs of periodontal disease or possible cancers, including sores, recessed & bleeding gums and oral lesions
  • Follow through with oral hygiene procedures in accordance with treatment plans prescribed by the Dentist; procedures may include prophylaxis, periodontal scaling, root planning, debridement, application of fluoride treatment(s) and/or protective sealant(s)
  • Ability to apply anesthetics as needed and/or administer nitrous sedation
  • Knowledge and use of film and/or radiograph; ability to take impressions
  • Light general office assistance including unlocking doors, turning on equipment, stocking supplies and/or disinfecting treatment room(s)
  • Participation in quality improvement activities
  • Other duties as assigned

Position Requirements

What We’re Looking For:

  • Associates and/or Bachelors degree from a Dental Hygienist school/program
  • Active Registered Dental Hygienist (RDH) license required
  • Current certification to administer Local Anesthetic & Nitrous Oxide Sedation
  • Ability to work independently and with minimal guidance
  • Excellent interpersonal and customer service skills, to effectively and tactfully deal with a diverse group of patients, staff, customers and community groups
  • Computer proficiency including experience with EMR system(s)
