In this role you will coordinate the Human Resource function including areas of recruitment, compensation, administration, employee benefit management, performance management system, employee relations, training and development, policy development, and record-keeping for our facility.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities include the following. Other duties may be assigned.
- Effectively and professionally, recruit, interview and assist in the selection of non-exempt and exempt employees to fill vacant positions.
- Administer internal job postings and coordinate with other facilities to ensure postings are placed in other Falcon facilities.
- Recordkeeping of affirmative action program (if applicable)
- Coordinate with other department managers on such actions as promotions, transfers, discharges, and disciplinary action in a timely and effective manner.
- Maintain knowledge of legal requirements and governmental reporting regulations affecting human resources functions and ensure policies, procedures, and reporting are in compliance.
- Coordinate and process weekly payroll function.
- Oversee the safety & health committee, safety incentive program, and all other safety & health programs at Falcon Plastics. Update and revise programs as required.
- Assure compliance and effectiveness of all safety & health training.
- Administration, management and compliance of all worker's compensation cases, corrective action plans and prevention efforts. Responsible to assure Falcon's compliance with all OSHA regulations.
- Work closely with Occ. Health Nurse on all work related injuries and/or illnesses, safety and health concerns and programs.
- Conduct exit interviews.
- Conduct annual area wage and benefit survey, biannual employee opinion surveys and all other HR calendar programs and initiatives.
- Oversee new employee orientation to foster positive attitude toward company goals, ensure basic knowledge of company policies and procedures, and conduct benefit enrollments as eligibility requirements are met.
- Coordinates and/or conducts various developmental training for employees and supervisors.
- Work closely with Plant Manager in making business, policy, and procedural decisions.
- Maintain accurate and confidential personnel files and attendance records.
- Serve as the gatekeeper for the employee relations committee; conduct monthly meetings, coordinate annual calendar of events, prepare and submit annual budget for this committee.
- Maintain concessions checking account and serve as a contact person for facility vending.
- Submit articles for the monthly corporate newsletter.
- Monitor and oversee employee suggestion and improvement program(s).
- Maintain organized and thorough files and recordkeeping system as outlined by the HR manual.
- Refer employees to EAP Provider as appropriate.

Education and/or Experience: Bachelor's degree from four-year college or university; and five years related experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience.
Software Knowledge: To perform this job successfully, this individual should have a high level of competency with computers, the internet and Microsoft Office products. Knowledge of HRIS / ERP systems and implementation practices preferred. Ability to develop knowledge in Great Plains HR and Payroll (HRIS), Genesis Timekeeping, and IQMS (enterprise software).
Memberships, Certificates, Licenses, Registrations: Current Driver's License, Member of local Professional Human Resource organization and are encouraged to be actively involved in the community as a representative of Falcon Plastics. SPHR or PHR preferred but not required.
Other Skills and Abilities: Must have superior oral and written communication skills, excellent interpersonal skills, strong organizational skills and detail orientation. Analytical ability and the ability to problem solve and identify root cause is required. |
