Duties/Responsibilities: Facilitates ARC courses by setting up blended learning and course records. Teaches ARC courses including Lifeguard, CPR, BLS, Babysitting, and Wilderness First Aid. Knows/reviews all emergency procedures and responds to emergency situations immediately in accordance with UVAC policies, procedures, and the 'safe-in-six' model. Completes related reports as required. Maintains effective, positive relationships with patrons and other staff. Performs equipment checks and ensures appropriate equipment is available as needed. Attends all staff meetings and in-service trainings. Occasionally lead in-service training. Conveys information on aquatics programs and schedules and, as appropriate, refers students and parents to other programs. Maintains records as required. Follows all UVAC policies, rules, regulations, and procedures, including emergency and safety procedures. Completes incident and accident reports as necessary. Returns phone calls and answers patron's questions as needed. Communicates with participants throughout the process. Understand the online registration process to assist participants in completing registration. Other tasks as assigned.   Position Requirements Required Skills/Abilities: Must demonstrate lifeguard skills in accordance with Red Cross standards. Proficient in Microsoft Office and Google Suite. Excellent attention to detail Solid interpersonal and communication skills Punctual to start and end classes on time/ Education and Experience: Must have current nationally recognized instructor certification. Physical and Schedule Requirements: Ability to pass lifeguard water test. Must be able to remain alert. Must be able to sit or stand for extended periods. Ability to continuously scan all areas of the pool with clear vision. Ability to perform strenuous physical tasks necessary for a water rescue. Ability to communicate verbally, including projecting voice across distance in normal and loud situations. Available to work a varied schedule.
