Welcome to the "What's Next District."   AREA15 is looking for an experienced, Maintenance Engineer, Mechanical to assist in the ongoing maintenance and upkeep of AREA15’s amusement rides and attractions. This position is responsible for documenting and performing maintenance tasks in accordance with manufacturer and ASTM requirements. This position will also require knowledge/experience in regulatory inspections, repairs, schematics reading, inventory upkeep, and always maintaining proper communication with management. This position invites new innovative ideas and concepts pertaining to the maintenance field of all our attractions. The ability to research the idea/concept, provide pros and cons, and be able to present it to management. This position will perform both short and long-term projects following management directives abiding by all ride compliances with all applicable ASTM and local regulations. This position will also be cross trained to assist with other maintenance duties in other disciplines. RESPONSIBILITIES AND DUTIES: Ensures the ongoing safety, efficiency, and availability of amusement rides and devices at the facility in accordance with manufacturer requirements. Suggest new departmental policies and procedures on an ongoing basis, making specific recommendations to improve safety, ride availability, and departmental performance. Ensures that all employees work safely and in compliance with all local laws, work rules, and best practice guidelines. Perform ride repairs, ride maintenance, and ride rehabilitation functions accurately and timely within the division. Perform, document, and maintain the daily, weekly, monthly, and annual ride inspections as directed. Perform regulatory housekeeping and cleaning requests timely and report any abnormalities. Communicate any and all department status’, inventory, record keeping, compliance issues, wear tolerance specifications to management on an ongoing basis. Including any other ride maintenance issues, employee concerns, guest complaints, special requests, and any other unusual occurrences or situations in order to maintain optimal department performance. Knowledge of Amusement Industry standards and practices including ASTM F2291, F1193 and F770 preferred. 2 years (minimum) of experience in specific maintenance components. (Electrical, hydraulic, pneumatic, mechanical/motor, chassis, carriage, hoist, rigging, etc.) Willingness to being and thriving in an evolving, multi-disciplined, diverse technical team. Ability to work nights, weekends, and holiday periods to meet business needs. Certified and/or ability to be certified to operate boom and scissor lifts. Ability to climb and work in heights of (but not limited to) 131 ft. Ability to lift at least 25lbs. Ability to learn, adapt, and self-knowledge when necessary. Self-starter and motivated. Strong troubleshooting skills in pneumatics, hydraulics, mechanical, electrical components with some PLC knowledge. Ability to work in all weather conditions including but not limited to extreme heat, sun exposure, wind, rain, extreme cold. Ability to understand, speak, read, and write the English language. Computer skills in Microsoft applications. (Excel, Outlook, Word, etc.) Availability for varied shifts, including evenings, weekends, and holidays. Ability to work in an environment subject to varying levels of noise, crowds, flashing lights, and smoke.   This position is currently accepting applications.
