SALARY RANGE: $100,000.00 - $110,000.00 CAD

LOCATION: Offshore Newfoundland, Canada

TYPE OF RIG: Floatel Endurance; Semi-Submersible Accommodation and Construction Support Vessel (ASV)

ROTATION: 28/28

TERMS OF EMPLOYMENT: Contract, Full Time

CONTRACT: Short Term Contract; Estimate Seven (7) Months

NUMBER OF POSITIONS: One (1)

 

JOB SUMMARY: The role of the Repairman II is to carry out all tasks and duties as directed by the First Engineer or their nominee thereby enabling the Engine Department to operate in a safe and efficient manner.

 

PRE-REQUISITES/QUALIFICATIONS:

  • High School Diploma or Equivalent
  • Canadian Engine Room Rating or STCW III/4 Equivalent
  • General Knowledge of Welding
  • 1 Year Experience as a Repairman or Similar Position
  • 1 Year Offshore Experience
  • Good verbal and written communication skills in English
  • Must pass Physical, Drug Screen and Background/Pre-Employment Screening Checks

 

DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:

The Repairman II is to ensure that all their tasks and duties are carried out in a safe and efficient manner using relevant safety equipment.

  • They are to ensure that a valid Work Permit is in force for work requiring such a Permit.
  • The Repairman II is responsible for reporting any malfunction of any of any equipment to the Engineer on watch. Duties in the accommodation could be carried out if required.
  • The Repairman II shall, if the nature of the work in question makes it necessary, report the need for assistance tot the First Engineer. They shall, to the extent that time permits, participate in the general maintenance of the Vessel as directed by the First Engineer.
  • The Repairman II shall assist in maintaining control of spare parts and stores, they should advise the First Engineer of stock levels and other requirements as necessary.
  • To be a part of the category management program if required
  • The responsibilities also include reporting as required by the FIMS
  • They are to follow the ISPS tasks given from the SSO.
  • Other Duties as Assigned
