A day in the life of a Billing Associate Coordinator:
  1. Oversees submission of all primary and secondary claims electronically and by paper daily.
  2. Oversees daily reports including Duplicate Report, Modifier report, and workflow assignment reports. 
  3. Continually demonstrates high-performance level in all daily billing operations and reimbursement functions to include prebill audits, rejections, denials, open AR, refunds, returns, payment processing, claims submission, patient financial counseling, and any other insurance or payment related correspondence.
  4. Collaborates interdepartmentally to include Payer Relations, Quality Assurance, Legal and Compliance, Business Systems, Training & Development, and Client Ops. 
  5. Reviews monthly report to communicate trends, problems, and concerns with their team members, to produce accurate and timely completion of reimbursement processing.
  6. Evaluates processes for necessary updates within our Billing Department resources making suggestions to Billing Administrator for improvement, if needed.
  7. Ensures team is engaged in workflow processes daily and making appropriate decisions for staffing based on volume of work across the Billing department.  Effective delegator of specific tasks to the appropriate team members.
  8. Promotes high level productivity of team members through auditing, metrics evaluation, and KPI measures for Billing.
  9. Effectively communicates with assigned team members by conducting regular staff meetings all departmental issues and updates in a timely and efficient manner. 
  10. Enforces adherence to all Billing Department Policies and Billing Department Handbook processes. 
  11. Focuses on interdepartmental collaborative efforts to resolve issues related to including, but not limited to compliance, systems, payers, and patients.
  12. High level execution and communication upward to Manager for resolving issues.  Also, must be able to effectively communicate externally with patients and providers responding professionally.
  13. Adheres to all company policies and procedures regarding employment, safety and compliance and report any concerns of non-compliance in any area to your manager immediately. 
  14. Performs other duties as requested by the Billing Manager or management team.

 

 
Position Requirements

Education/Experience/Knowledge Requirements:

  • High School Diploma required, Associates or Bachelor’s degree preferred.
  • Prior experience in medical billing required.  Medical Billing Certification preferred.
  • Excellent communication skills and customer service skills.
  • Ability to handle fast paced environment and multitask.
  • Proactive, takes initiative.
  • Self-motivated/self-starter and results driven.
  • Detail oriented with exceptional listening and analytical skills
  • Team player with a “can-do” positive attitude.
  • Working knowledge of Microsoft Office, Microsoft Outlook.
