Wiseway Supply is seeking a highly motivated Warehouse Lead to join our team in Florence,Kentucky.

 

Position Summary:

The Warehouse will oversee the daily operations of warehouse activities, ensuring efficient and safe handling of inventory, fulfillment of orders, and maintenance of facility standards. This role includes supervising warehouse staff, coordinating with other departments, and enforcing company policies and best practices to achieve optimal productivity and quality.

 

Key Responsibilities:

  1. Operations Management:
    • Coordinate and monitor daily warehouse operations, including receiving, storing, picking, and shipping of products.
    • Ensure accurate inventory control practices, including conducting regular cycle counts and maintaining records.
    • Oversee product quality checks and compliance with health and safety regulations.
  2. Staff Supervision:
    • Lead, train, and supervise warehouse staff, assigning tasks and monitoring performance.
    • Provide coaching and performance feedback, fostering a collaborative and positive team environment.
    • Manage scheduling, attendance, and labor needs based on workflow demands.
  3. Inventory and Logistics Management
    • Manage and track inventory levels, including receiving, stocking, and maintaining accurate inventory records.
    • Coordinate with suppliers, vendors, and logistics providers to schedule and track inbound and outbound shipments.
    • Implement inventory control procedures to prevent loss and optimize warehouse stock levels.
    • Create schedules and prioritize tasks to meet order fulfillment deadlines.
  4. Truck Driving and Delivery
    • Responsible for the operation of company trucks and delivery vehicles to transport goods safely and efficiently to designated locations.
    • Ensure trucks are loaded and unloaded in an efficient and safe manner; securing product to prevent damage.
    • Maintain vehicle logs and perform routine vehicle maintenance checks to ensure safety and compliance.
    • Ensure all driving laws and regulations, representing the company professionally on the road are followed
  5. Process Improvement:
    • Identify opportunities for operational improvement and implement solutions to increase efficiency.
    • Analyze productivity metrics and prepare reports to monitor KPIs, suggesting strategies for optimization.
    • Collaborate with management on policy updates, safety protocols, and process enhancements.
  6. Safety & Compliance:
    • Enforce safety standards and ensure staff compliance with OSHA and company policies.
    • Conduct regular safety audits and organize training sessions for warehouse staff.
    • Handle incident reports and manage corrective actions to prevent future issues.

Qualifications

  • High school diploma or GED required; associate or bachelor's degree in logistics, business, or related field preferred.
  • Minimum of 2-4 years of experience in warehouse operations, with at least 1 year in a supervisory or lead role.
  • Demonstrated ability to execute strategic initiatives.
  • Results-oriented.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills
  • Proficiency with warehouse management systems (WMS) and basic knowledge of inventory software, and data analytical programs such as PHOCAS & Strategic Pricing / SPARXiQ, and Office 365 products.
  • Strong understanding of safety regulations and compliance.
  • Ability to work collaboratively in a fast-paced environment.

 

Physical Working Requirements

  • Mobility and Flexibility:
    • Ability to move around the facility, including walking, standing, and climbing stairs for extended periods.
    • Occasionally need to bend, stoop, kneel, or crouch to inspect products, equipment, or facilities;

to include the motion of getting in and out of the truck from the driver seat, removing the product from the truck, stabilizing on the mode of delivery via two-wheel dolly or carrying by hand.

  • Lifting/Carrying and Equipment:
    • Must be able to lift and carry items weighing up to 70 pounds, such as boxes, inventory items, or equipment, occasionally; push/pull pallet jack/cart weighing up to 350lbs
    • Ability to use tools or equipment, such as hand trucks or pallet jacks, for moving heavier items as needed.
    • The ability to safely operate a Forklift is a plus
  • Visual and Auditory Requirements:
    • Ability to learn the use of an RF scanner device
    • Ability to read and interpret documents, spreadsheets, and written communication clearly.
    • Adequate vision to inspect products, read labels, and operate equipment.
    • Good hearing to communicate effectively in person and over the phone in a sometimes noisy environment.
  • Manual Dexterity:
    • Frequent use of hands and fingers to operate computers, office equipment, and tools.
    • Ability to handle paperwork, manage inventory, and perform data entry efficiently.
  • Work Environment:
    • Work is primarily performed in a warehouse or distribution setting.
    • Exposure to varying temperatures, depending on the location within the facility (e.g., warehouse, loading docks, etc.)
    • Occasional exposure to dust, noise, and other typical warehouse conditions.
  • Extended Hours:
    • Ability to work extended hours, including evenings or weekends, during peak seasons or when meeting deadlines.
  • Safety:
    • Must adhere to all company safety policies and procedures, including wearing appropriate personal protective equipment (PPE) when necessary.
