Description

Advocate Supervisor needed for full-time, permanent position supervising a team of volunteer Advocates and providing direct advocacy/case work as needed. The role is based in Manhattan and is a hybrid work schedule (2-3 days in office. Would occasionally work in Staten Island to attend family court and conduct volunteer recruitment. 

Will providfe supportive and constructive guidance and oversight to volunteers

Provide direct case management and advocacy when volunteers are unavailable

Guide volunteers in advocating for children and youth in court preceedings and field meetings related to child's development, educational, health and mental health needs, family supports and others.

Guide volunteers working with parents of children in foster care to establish sage and stable homes required for their childs return.

Meet with volunteers once a month for supervision.

Write court reports that include holistic descriptions of the needs and life circumstances of each child or youth.

Participate in court preceedings.

Orient new volunteers to policies and court processes.

Annual Salary Range: $55,000-$70,000 depending on qualification and experience.

Position Requirements

LCSW, LMSW preferred, with a minimum 2 years relevant postgraduate professional experience and a demonstrated interest in child welfare.

Bilingual (English/Spanish) preferred.
