Staff Assistant - Police 

Description

The Staff Assistant provides support to the Police front office operations through direct assistance to the TAC officer and Municipal Court functions. Versed in a variety of tasks, this position serves as a valued force multiplier in daily operations, providing for efficiency and excellent customer experience.

Perform court filing and records management.

Assist the public in getting reports, obtaining information, Court Dispositions, Suspension Releases, Clearing Reports, Background checks etc.

Process Court Correction submittals to State.

Participate in preparation of Municipal Court calendar and docket.

Preform post court entries and disposition in court management system

Assists Certified Terminal Operator with GCIC audit.

At the direction of TAC perform warrant entries and validations.

Respond to GCIC/NCIC Hit Confirmations during normal business hours.

 
Position Requirements

Must have a high school diploma or equivalent. Two years of post secondary formal education or equivalent in the criminal justice area of study preferred. Comparable work experience may be considered in lieu of post-secondary education.

Knowledgeable in common office software like Microsoft Word Outlook and Excel and have familiarity with functioning of records management systems.

Must be able to maintain security and confidentiality of all information.

The ability to establish and maintain good working relationships with internal and external customers is essential.

Be able to work within a fast-paced office environment and prioritize tasks as assigned.

Communicate well orally and in writing and comfortable presenting information.

 
Physical/Environmental Requirements Physical exertion is sedentary work involving lifting no more than 10 pounds and occasionally lifting or carrying docket files, ledgers, and small tools. A certain amount of walking and standing is often necessary in carrying out job duties. Jobs are sedentary if walking and standing are required occasionally, and other sedentary criteria are met.
