Share Email Opening Title Utility Locator  Description Position reports to Utility Locate Foreman. Assists with locating and marking the City's underground gas, water and sewer lines in accordance with state dig laws prior to any excavation work in order to ensure the safety of anyone doing excavation work around those lines and to protect the City's underground utility distribution system. Keeps trucks stocked. Assists with maintenance and operation of locate equipment. Writes up damage tickets. Keeps adequate records of tickets, damage reports and pictures.   Position Requirements Must have a high school diploma or equivalent. Must have a valid driver's license. Ability to read gas, water and sewer distribution maps desired. Should have locate experience or have attended a school for locating. Ability to read and understand utility maps a plus.   Physical/Environmental Requirements The work is performed outside. The work includes sitting, standing, and walking.
