Skill Creations is a human services agency that operates three service divisions. The ICF Division provides specialized long-term residential care to 191 individuals with intellectual and/or developmental disabilities in 15 different towns in North Carolina. The Community Operations Division provides residential and non-residential services to persons with intellectual and/or developmental disabilities in their home community. The Child Development Division, with two locations in Goldsboro, provides high quality child care and preschool for children ages birth - 5 years. One center also offers after school care through age 12.   Description Direct Support Professional - Community/Client Home Based Services Seeking employment that makes a difference in the lives of others?  Become a Direct Support Professional (DSP) with Skill Creations, Inc., a nonprofit agency helping people with disabilities meet their personal goals.  Pay Rate: $16/hr  Hours: 20/wk. Either 10hr daytime shifts on Saturday and Sunday, or shorter weekend shifts plus one or two weekday evenings (5p-9p, for example). Up to your preference.  Job Description: The DSP is responsible for various duties related to overall support and care for individuals receiving services. We serve individuals with intellectual and/or developmental disabilities, traumatic brain injury, and secondary mental health needs.  The DSP works in the individual’s home and/or in a community setting, providing care according to the specific needs and goals of the individual.  This care may include: personal care, including incontinence care behavioral support medication administration community engagement opportunities for communication and recreation/leisure Location: Clyde, NC   Our motto is "Creating life skills with those we serve." Valid NC Driver’s license and acceptable Driving Record. Criminal Record Check. Completion of paid training in CPR/First Aid and Behavior Management. Basic computer skills for e-mail, electronic training modules, and data recording. Ability to remain on one’s feet most of the time.  Ability to lift 50 pounds, and to occasionally balance, bend, stoop, and kneel.  Prompt and regular attendance. Includes working during inclement weather and some holidays. Ability to meet client-specific needs.
