Program Description The Children's Residential Treatment Center (CRTC) provides secure, intensive psychiatric residential treatment for seriously emotionally disturbed children and adolescents ages 11 to 17. Clients typically have significant problems in multiple areas of functioning: at home, in school, and with peers.

A Residential Counselor participates as a critical member of an interdisciplinary team of professionals and provides direct services to teens with psychiatric needs. This position is responsible for working directly with clients to provide for their care, welfare, safety, and protection as they take their journey to undergo treatment in accordance with the mission's philosophy and program goals. Residential Counselor's implement appropriate treatment plans and goals that are suitable to the age and functionality of the individual as well as document a client's progress throughout their stay. Our Minneapolis site is seeking a part-time, overnight staff working approximately 20 hours per week. The schedule is Thursday, Friday and every other Saturday beginning at 11pm. These shifts last until 7, 8, or 9am depending on schedule. Also, occasional day, evening, and holiday shifts may be required.

This is an entry-level position that provides opportunities for professional development in the areas of applied behavior analysis, human services and working with children with mental health needs.  Starting salary is $12.00 per hour.

Position Requirements

*High School Diploma/GED
*BA/BS in Social Service Field preferred

Other Skills/Requirements:
*Behavior management; limit setting
*Crisis intervention techniques
*Valid drivers license with a good driving record (final candidate will be required to submit to a criminal, motor vehicle, and DHS background check)
*Related experience with adolescents in residential/hospital setting preferred
*21 years of age to meet licensing requirements
