Description

GENERAL PURPOSE OF POSITION:

Perform the data entry tasks of gift entry, acknowledgments, and donor record updates. Ensure that data inputs are accurate and entered into Raiser’s Edge, our donor database, in a timely manner. Generate reports and queries as requested by the Development Strategist and Director of Philanthropy. 

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS AND RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Enter all philanthropic gifts received by the United Church of Christ’s Philanthropy Team including but not limited to the following data entry points: gift date, amount, appeal, and gift type
  • Work closely with the Development Associate and Development Strategist to ensure that database procedures and processes are closely followed
  • Be attentive to all email communication received and respond within 24 hours to donor and staff requests for information
  • Respond to snail mail requests in a timely manner
  • Work closely with the Development Associate to ensure that acknowledgments are mailed within 2 weeks of gift entry
  • Serve as backup staff for the acknowledgment letter process when the Development Associate is on leave
  • Serve as the Philanthropy Team liaison with the Finance Team to reconcile gifts and pledges
  • Update database with address data, enter new constituent records
  • Pull reports as requested by Development Strategist and Director of Philanthropy
  • Complete data entry assignments in a timely manner
  • Create mail merges in Microsoft Word
  • Scan correspondence onto United Church of Christ’s electronic file repository and into Raiser’s Edge
  • Accept additional tasks as assigned
 
Position Requirements

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS: The requirements below represent knowledge, skills and/or abilities required to perform successfully in this position.

  • Proficient in the use of Raiser’s  Edge database fundraising software (2 years or more experience) is required.
  • Proficient in the use of Microsoft Office Suite (Word and Excel especially)
  • Associate degree
  • Minimum of two years’ gift entry and acknowledgment process experience
  • Excellent written, oral, and interpersonal skills with a strong customer service orientation
  • Demonstrated ability to solve problems
  • Highly motivated and detail-oriented
  • Ability to work independently
  • Professional appearance

 

PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS

  • More than 2 years of extensive and detailed use of Raiser’s Edge database view software
  • Having successfully performed data entry and gift entry procedures during peak giving cycles (e.g., year-end, special events)
  • Raiser’s Edge training certificate(s)

OTHER

The Gift Processor and Data Entry Assistant will work a hybrid schedule with 3 required days in the office.
