Description

Registered Nurse preferred, Licensed Practical Nurse minimal, needed to provide nursing services to the Intellectual Disabilities program at Cumberland Mountain CSB. Duties include assisting the ICF Facility Manager with nursing services to intellectually disabled individuals served at the CSB. This will involve travel to group homes and personal homes of individuals served who reside within the community. Duties also include teaching a monthly, 32-hour medication administration training to staff of CMCSB, as well as refresher trainings as needed. The training curriculum is developed by the Board of Nursing and approved for use by our licensing authority.

 
Position Requirements

Interested candidates must meet the following qualifications: Prefer a valid Virginia Registered Nurse license, but at a minimum, must hold a valid Virginia Licensed Practical Nurse license. Must be authorized to administer or dispense medications. Must hold an approval certificate as an instructor of medication administration or be willing to attend training to become an approved instructor. Must be willing to travel to agency locations and within the community to train staff of CMCSB. Must be willing to work flexible hours as needed.

About the Organization CMCSB was formed in 1972 as a Chapter 10 Community Services Board under Virginia law. CMCSB provides mental health, intellectual disabilities and substance abuse treatment services to the residents of Buchanan, Russell, and Tazewell Counties. At the present time, CMCSB operates over twenty locations, to include outpatient offices, mental health recovery programs, group homes and day support programs for intellectually disabled individuals, and a residential alcohol and drug treatment program. In addition, CMCSB has several services that are provided directly in an individual's home or in a supported environment. CMCSB also provides a 24-hour crisis team to assist community agencies and individuals in crisis situations. CMCSB employs approximately 500 employees, which include full-time and part-time employees, as well as individuals receiving services who are employed to work in various day programs.
