SUMMARY

The Financial Analyst will play a critical role in shaping the financial future of Opportunity Village. Serving as a vital link between the Business Office and Operations team, this position provides a unique opportunity to influence strategic decision-making and drive meaningful financial outcomes. The role is centered on conducting financial planning, analysis and reporting to ensure stewardship of organization resources.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

  1. Accurately record sales revenue along with daily cash receipts and transfers to maintain precise financial records.
  2. Conduct variance analysis and provide explanations for deviations from budget, forecasts and historical trends.
  3. Support grant application and reporting functions, ensuring compliance with all grant reporting requirements and organizational standards.
  4. Record monthly investment activity while ensuring the proper allocation of funds adheres to restriction guidelines and compliance standards.
  5. Develop, implement, and maintain comprehensive spreadsheets to effectively track expenditure activities and ensure accuracy.
  6. Investigate, monitor, and resolve issues related to expenditures and spending trends, offering solutions for improvement.
  7. Prepare schedules for Board Reports as needed, ensuring they are accurate and complete.
  8. Serve as a financial resource, providing accurate information and guidance to supervisors, managers, and directors across departments.
  9. Assist in preparing schedules for month-end and year-end closings to support timely financial reporting.
  10. Prepare year-end audit schedules in collaboration with external auditors and assist in the preparation of Form 990 for compliance and reporting.
  11. Flexible work hours are required to support the philanthropy and events team during non-traditional business hours, including evenings and weekends, to assist with event-related tasks and operations.
  12. Report suspected Abuse, Neglect, Exploitation, Isolation, and Abandonment (ANEIA) within 1-hour as mandated by state law.
  13. May be assigned other duties as needed.

EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE

  • Required: Bachelor's Degree in Accounting, Finance, or Quantitative Discipline
  • Required: Demonstrated proficiency in Microsoft Office Excel, Word, and Outlook.
  • Preferred: Experience in both public accounting and private industry.
  • Preferred: Experience in both for-profit and nonprofit industries.
  • Preferred: Experience with Budget Maestro and familiarity with ERP systems, i.e., Great Plains or similar financial software.
