Description

We are looking for an inspired and motivated Junior Project Manager to help us grow our business base while managing engineering and manufacturing projects.

  • Military System Kitting: We deliver engineering and manufacturing solutions for military systems for air, land and sea A/B/P-Kit requirements.
  • Other: JFTI supports a wide variety of products and services including prototype test and evaluation equipment systems, tactical vehicle integration, aircraft modification, and depot level restoration.

JFTI is seeking a Junior Project Manager to support the management of various types of cost-plus fixed fee (CPFF), firm-fixed price (FFP), and Time & Material (T&M) contracts in our Defense Solutions and Products Division. Tasking will consist of the following:

  • Manage existing contracts including engineering support and manufacturing of prototype and production projects
  • Be a participant in Business Development initiatives, including meeting with customers, presenting J.F. Taylor's capabilities, selling technical solutions to new and existing customers, and capturing new projects.
  • Generate sales, grow a business base, and develop strong customer loyalty.
  • Support the bidding and proposal of future work to include resource and price estimating and proposal writing.
  • Maintain project plans, specifications, schedules, budgets and manage project risks.
  • Comprehend and detail the scope of the project by developing a Work Breakdown Structure (WBS) and applying the appropriate resources to each WBS task to ensure the project can be executed on schedule
  • Analyze WBS reports to develop Integrated Master Schedules (IMS)
  • Review and assist with subcontractor statements of work (SSOW) and track progress of efforts supported by partners
  • Perform financial and risk management on the project by monitoring labor, material, and travel costs during execution of the project and ensuring actual costs do not exceed contracted funding amounts
  • Generate data to support participation in monthly JFTI staffing meetings to ensure all projects have short and long-term coverage and are operating efficiently.
  • Interact with the government customer, prime contractor, and other sub-contractors to ensure the projects are meeting requirements on schedule.
  • Report project specifics to internal and external stakeholders
 
Position Requirements
  • Degree:  B.A. in Business-related Discipline (Desired); B.S. in Engineering or Related Technical Discipline (Acceptable)
  • Years of Experience:  1-3 years of relatable program/project analyst experience
  • Individual must have experience with various Earned Value Management (EVM) techniques to include producing data from which Estimate at Completion (EAC), Estimate to Complete (ETC), and Cost to Complete (CTC) can be derived.
  • Familiarity with analyzing data in order to determine program needs
  • Experience with performing data validation and implementing control measures to ensure continued success of a program/project
  • Knowledge of organizing information artifacts, preparing project presentations, and participating in interchange meetings, both technical and financial, for strategic planning purposes
  • Reviewing documents and coordinating team inputs to documents
  • Preparation of administrative Contract Data Requirements Lists (CDRLs) and Requests for Information (RFIs)
  • Proficient with MS Office
  • Experience with military/DoD avionic, ground-based command and control, and trainer/simulator system requirements is a plus
 
Salary Range 65K - 80K and will commensurate with experience  
Full-Time/Part-Time Full-Time  
Level of Clearance Required Secret Eligible  
Amount of Travel Minimal
