We are seeking a skilled and detail-oriented Technical Writer to join our dynamic team in the Defense industry. This position offers a unique opportunity to contribute to projects that are critical to national security and advanced technological development. As a Technical Writer, you will create clear, concise, and comprehensive documentation for a variety of defense applications and systems. You will collaborate closely with engineers, product managers, and others to understand complex technical information and translate it into user-friendly documentation. Your work will facilitate better understanding and usability of sophisticated technologies by both end-users and maintenance personnel. In this fast-paced and constantly evolving sector, your ability to synthesize information and produce high-quality manuals, guides, and online content will be essential. Responsibilities

  • Develop and maintain user manuals, technical guides, and documentation for defense systems.
  • Collaborate with engineers and subject matter experts to gather and analyze technical information.
  • Ensure documentation meets industry standards and specifications for clarity and quality.
  • Create and maintain design documents, specifications, and training materials.
  • Gather feedback from users to continuously improve documentation usability and effectiveness.
  • Conduct research on emerging technologies to stay updated and integrate new information into documentation.
  • Support the creation of multimedia content to accompany written documentation, including diagrams and videos.
  • Catalog program related COTS and Reference Materials using existing Configuration Management Tool
  • Attend project team meetings and reviews - record and publish minutes and action items
 
Position Requirements

 

  • Bachelor's degree in Technical Communication, English, Engineering, or a related field.
  • Proven experience as a Technical Writer, preferably in the Defense industry.
  • Strong understanding of engineering concepts, terminology, and defense applications.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills, with an ability to present complex information clearly.
  • Ability to work collaboratively in a team environment and coordinate with various departments.
  • Attention to detail and a commitment to producing high-quality, accurate technical documentation.
 
Salary Range 60K - 80K and will commensurate with experience  
Full-Time/Part-Time Full-Time  
Level of Clearance Required Secret  
Amount of Travel Travel is not likely
