SUMMARY

Under the direction of the Assistant Retail Manager, the Lead Retail Associate will be responsible for customer service, warehouse, production, cash register operations and all related duties involving cash flow and donated goods for the Retail Store. This position is also required to support all front and back office team member, persons served, and operations.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Provide support and training to Retail Associates and perform daily cash register sale transactions and customer service.
  • Open and closing responsibilities such as balance cash drawers, record and log register totals, bank deposit, recover store, prepare warehouse and processing areas, and complete daily reports such as production and end of shift.
  • Complete and ensure the accuracy of required paperwork such as daily cash receipts, sales and carryout slips, deposit slips, ID Notes, and Incident Reports.
  • Greet customers and treat them in a professional manner.
  • Provide training and assistance to ensure that all donated items are accurately sorted, processed, priced, and stocked.
  • Monitor customer access to and cleanliness of register area and fitting rooms.
  • Assist those with walk-in donations and customer carry outs.
  • Help to ensure the store is clean, organized, and free of safety hazards.
  • Lead daily and weekly team huddles specific to assigned area.
  • Assists Supervisor(s) with team member coaching and performance reviews.
  • Ensures compliance with established policies and procedures.
  • Participate in Safety Committee activities and procedures.
  • Report suspected Abuse, Neglect, Exploitation, Isolation, and Abandonment (ANEIA) immediately as  mandated by state law.
  • May be assigned other duties as needed.

 

SUPERVISORY RESPONSIBILITIES

Assists with the supervision of Retail team members and individuals served in assigned contract areas.

SKILLS REQUIRED

  • Ability to communicate effectively with individuals, team members, and supervisors (verbal and written).
  • Must possess social discernment to assess and understand other's reactions and behaviors.
  • Ability to define problems and draw valid conclusions.
  • Have positive and enthusiastic outlook.
  • Self-directed, with strong ability to work independently and to set and adhere to deadlines.
  • Ability to set priorities, follow through to completion of tasks, work well under pressure, and maintain a high level of confidentiality.

  • Ability to perform basic cash transactions and arithmetic.
  • Ability to lead a team and comfort with public speaking, i.e., facilitating huddles, conducting coaching sessions, providing instruction, and redirecting behaviors.

EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE

  • Required: High School Diploma or equivalent.
  • Required: One (1) year verifiable work experience in related field in a lead or key holder role, i.e., retail sales and cash handling experience.
  • Required: Current Cardiopulmonary Resuscitation (CPR) and First Aid Certification is required or the ability to supply certification within 30 days.
  • Required: Current Crisis Prevention Intervention (CPI) Certification is required or must be obtained within 30 days.
  • Preferred: Experience working with individuals with disabilities.
