Description

AREA15 is looking for Site Experience Associate 2 for our warehouse operations team to support events and festivals. The Site Experience Associate 2 will be responsible for ensuring the success of the event productions by efficiently crafting, maintaining, and organizing props, scenic elements, and custom-built structures for a variety of productions and events. The position reports to Warehouse Manager, Site Experience.

RESPONSIBILITIES AND DUTIES:

  • Execute custom fabrication, special builds and scenic builds, ensuring all items meet quality and aesthetic standards and guidelines provided.
  • Build, paint, and assemble props and set pieces per event plans.
  • Interpret and work from design renderings, sketches, and technical drawings to accurately build scenic elements.
  • Check Monday board for project assignments, timelines, and priorities.
  • Ensure scenic elements are crafted with durability and safety in mind for installation and use on set.
  • Organize, track, and maintain prop and scenic inventories, including the repair and restoration of existing pieces as per processes and management instructions.
  • Performs the load-in and out-of- props and scenic elements for shows on and off AREA15 Properties while handling them with care to prevent damage.
  • Develop innovative, one-of-a-kind props and installations for unique client needs or specific event themes per guidelines and/or design renderings.
  • Provide creative input for continued improvement to achieve overall success.
  • Comply with company safety regulations at all times.
  • Operate and care for work areas in a safe, clean manner.
  • Maintain professionalism by working steadily, being a team player and being responsible for personal actions.
  • Safely operate various types of utility vehicles, non-CDL trucks, and heavy equipment providing appropriate certification.
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams to troubleshoot design challenges and refine builds to align with client vision.
  • Use various hand and power tools, and material handling equipment.
  • Ask questions or self-educate on new skills, tools, and procedures to keep AREA15 on the cutting edge of entertainment.
  • Keep Warehouse, company equipment/vehicles and workspaces clean and free of unnecessary clutter.
  • Assist with emergency and unscheduled repairs as assigned.
  • Manage time on delegated duties and document in logs accordingly.
  • Diagnose problems, replace or repair parts, test and make adjustments as directed by supervisor or direct manager.
  • Detect faulty operations and defective material and report to a supervisor.
  • Exhibit ART! at all times.
  • Perform all other duties as assigned or needed.

Position Requirements

QUALIFICATIONS & SKILLS

  • Applicants must be 21 years of age or older
  • Proof of eligibility to work in the United States
  • Valid driver’s license with a clean driving record to operate company vehicles.
  • Minimum of 2 years of experience in fabrication and scenic builds or a similar role in a large scale event environment.
  • Strong understanding of scenic painting techniques, sculpting, and other artistic skills.
  • Ability to read and interpret design sketches, renderings, blueprints, and construction drawings.
  • Excellent organizational and time-management skills, with attention to detail.
  • Knowledge of structural basics for set design and assembly.
  • Ability to work multiple shifts, varying in start and end times, working overtime as needed.
  • Ability to operate equipment such as forklift, boom lift, scissor lift, etc. Or willingness to learn company owned equipment.
  • Proficiency in using fabrication tools (e.g, saws, sanders, welding tools) and knowledge of building materials.
  • Knowledgeable in basic stages, truss, seating and exterior and interior site operations.
  • Must be highly motivated and possess superior interpersonal communication and teamwork like skills
  • Working knowledge on use of web and mobile technologies as well as two-way radio
  • Must possess working mobile device, preferably smart phone
  • Position requires to perform physically demanding tasks, such as but no limited to constant walking, climbing stairs, and lifting up to 75lbs.
  • Excellent communication skills, with the ability to collaborate effectively across teams.
  • Ability to work in an environment subject to varying levels of noise, crowds, flashing lights, and smoke.
  • Must have the ability to withstand extreme weather conditions, such as high/low temperatures, high wind, heat, and sun exposure.
